Nothing makes me more productive than the last minute. these are the words for this week and I can home in on that one. How many times like now(Wednesday evening) do I come down to my studio to do my journal page, only a few hours before I need to put it on. Where does Monday and Tuesday go !!!
This time the twins Delia and Belinda have gone round to their friend who is organising a surprise party for their mother who has reached a significant birthday. the twins are not good at organising anything, so had to be nice to their friend Miranda and get her to organise it for them. They found to their horror that she hadn't even started on the arrangements. They knew she was fairly laid back, but this was ridiculous.
They stared to get annoyed with her and all she could say was " Nothing makes me more productive than the last minute" They just had to trust her and let her get on with it.
I and entering this on Art Journal Journey where Eileen's theme of ' Inspired by' I am inspired by Dyan Reaveley with her quirky sense of humour and wonderful art materials. Neet and I use her stamps for our journals and the inks, paints and stencils for our backgrounds. The figures you can swap around and make different ones. I just wish she would do some male ones. I have been on a few of her workshops which regret fun.
I am trying to type this with one hand as I have a cat on my lap who keeps dragging my right hand down to stop me typing. I am not good at it at the best of times.

If I didn't know better (plus how impossible it is) I would think you had sneaked in my house and read my blog post. Wendy, this telepathy thing is worrying. We have both used "twins" this week. I know my post was done before yours because I did it early in the week - but another coincidence is you mentioning how the quote could apply to you because of your blogging. I did write exactly the same. Spooky or what!!!
Saying all of that I love your page, great colours and background.
Hugs, Neet xx
ps wonder what next week will bring? Scary!
The female twins, oh, they look just great with the hat and the deer on their head and the casual friend, she's gone. A wonderful story and well staged. I always like to read your picture story, whether with you or neet. Thumbs up!!!
Have a great day, Hug Elke
Such a great page and story! The background looks so bright with those lovely figures 😁. I tend to be the opposite of this saying, planned and organised so mostly have pages done well in advance ...lol! I hope you're having a lovely week and enjoying the sunshine despite the cooler temperatures, Happy Thursday! Hugs, Jo x
I love the lady in that thoroughly relaxed position and how she doesn't go with the quote, but does go so well. She has some attitude. I wonder if the twins will get ready for the party in time. I am sure being for Mom she will love it no matter what. Hope your week is going well and thanks for sharing this fun page with us at AJJ also Wendy. Hugs-Erika
Isn’t the laid back, don’t worry attitude, self confidence of Miranda so perfect. I’m sure the party will be a total success. Dyan’s characters are so fun with your stories. I always get a kick out of the getups (outfits) they wear and the colors you dress them in.
Fantastic page, last minute is a bad habit of mine! Cats are clever creatures! Hugs, Valerie
Beautiful.
I loved getting caught up in the twins' story. It was very believable, too. What a fun way to share this quote, too. Miranda looks far too laid back to be organized, which makes your story (and quote) even more plausible. I also want to thank you for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey honoring Eileen's theme.
I have to agree with Miranda - I'm often happier with something made last minute than I am with something I have spent ages on! Mind you she does look really laid back!!! Hugs, Chrisx
I think we can all relate to this Wendy always someone we know that is far to laid back for our liking especially when the job needs doing. I'm a get up and do person but time never seems to be on my side, everything is last minute.. Lovely bright vibrant page I hope the celebrations soon over looked that chilled approach to it's preparation.
Hugs for the weekend Tracey xx
Totally can relate to this! Love the characters, their fun outfits, and that super background. She is super laid back - I would freak out - I can handle last minute but not on parties. Hugz
