Art Journal Journey - Having Fun

My theme on Art journal Journey is Having fun, here is my last entry showing Eleanor having fun on a beach . She's a real beach baby and wasn't bothered that she was still fully clothed, and getting a bit wet, it was still quite cold when the top two were taken. Don't kids feel the cold!!

Tag Tuesday - Faces

My second tag for Michele's theme of Faces on Tag Tuesday.  Another face from my online art courses, this time I did manage to give her turquoise hair. I find it very difficult to give faces bright coloured skin and hair, bit am gradually getting there. I added some ribbon and flowers to the inked background.

Art Journal journey - Having fun

Another page for my theme on Art Journal Journey, this time it's the two boys testing out their surf boards in a shallow pool in Sand bay near Applecross in the Highlands of Scotland.
I inked the background an then ripped up strips of paper to add on top I then added the photos of the boys having fun.

Thursday journal with Neet

Look both ways before crossing a woman are the words for this week. I decide that it only needed one page for this one, so used some Dylusion paints and  stencilled with the same colours. I stencilled a border in black and coloured the figures with watercolour pens. Once again I mixed up the stamped images to make one figure.
The main body and face is a stamp I rarely use, but thought she looked evil enough for anybody to not want to cross.

Tag Tuesday - Faces

For the next fortnight, Michele has chosen the theme of faces on Tag Tuesday. For mine I am using faces that I have painted on one of my online art courses. I scanned them and reduced them in size. I   inked the background, and added the picture, some ribbon and flowers.

Art Journal Journey Having fun

A family one again for my theme on Art Journal Journey of Having fun. This time the children and my son in law all all taking a dip in the sea in Applecross Bay. It is on the West coast of the Highlands of Scotland opposite the Isle off Skye, and just a walk away from where we stay. Too cold for me to even paddle in.
I used some scrim and texture paste at the bottom, for the seafood and distress inks for the sea.

Tag Tuesday - Anything industrial

Sandie's theme on Tag Tuesday is Anything industrial, and for the background of my second tag I have used a piece of kitchen paper that I had used when I sprayed some washers etc for another project. On top of this I added some stamped images, wooden cogs a washer, a spring and a rusty screw.

Art Journal Journey. - Having Fun

A page on Art Journal Journey for my theme of having fun.
Eleanor just loves going out for grown up afternoon tea. Here she is in a cafe in Worcester with her mum. Eleanor insisted on pouring the tea'
Peter and I took her out for lunch ages ago and the waitress asked her what she wanted for lunch: Sausage, chips and beans, Chicken nougats, beans and chips. or Fish fingers and chips. "yes please" she said to all of them. I manage to persuade her to just have one.

Art Journal Journey. - Having fun

A silly fun page this time for my theme of having fun on Art Journal Journey. The background is distress inked and stencils used afterwards. I stamped and coloured the little creatures and then stamped sometime branches for them to sit on. So, meet my tree dwellers who are having a fun get together in their favourite tree.
I certainly had fun making this.

I am also entering this in Try it on Tuesday where the theme is Use a stenciller two

Thursday Journal with Neet

We are now on a new set of sayings and this week it's "As long as everything is the way I want, I'm totally flexible" The background is distress inked and some Dylusion stencils used in the background. I stamped my favourite leaves and coloured the two Dylusion figures with watercolour pens. I think this lady has just the right stance for the saying, as does the bulldog.
I am having a few arty days as the weather is so awful, the garden can wait until it improves. I am still doing my two online art courses, as I have usually given up by now. I'm still behind on one of them, and my sewing machine is sulking with lack of use.

I am also entering this in Try it on Tuesday where the theme is Use a stencil or two.
I am also entering this in having fun on Art Journal Journey as I did have fun making it.

Snow dyeing

We had three inches of snow last Thursday so I rushed around. quickly soda ashed some fabric and put some snow over the fabric with the powder Procyon dyes on top, rushed in out of the rain which was doing it's best to get rid of the snow. I left the trays of snow under the balcony and left the until the next morning when the snow had melted and the dye had worked it's magic.

Art Journal Journey - Having Fun

Another page for Art Journal Journey where I am hosting with the theme of Having fun. This is a very young Eleanor definitely having fun doing some outdoor painting. My mother would never have let me get this messy. She is now five and is a very good little artist, although sometimes you have to guess what it is she has drawn. We are quickly put right and the picture takes on a different meaning.

Thursday Journal with Neet

The last of our present themes so we now have to think of some new ones.  I sprayed the background with Dylusion inks and then applied inks through stencils. I stamped the leaves and a few faint shapes in the background. I then coloured and added the figures.
Today we are mainly covered in snow and it's still coming down in large flakes. So much for doing my hanging baskets, first of all find the plants under the snow, that I brought home yesterday. I don't think so, an arty day I think.
I am also entering this on Try it on Tuesday where the theme is Use a stencil or two.
