Tag Tuesday - Ladybirds

Another tag for my theme of ladybirds on Tag Tuesday. This time I have coloured the three ladybirds in yellow with a march of small red ones around the top, they all looks if they might disappear down the hole in the tag. I have also used some die cuts.

Thursday journal with Neet.

'I don't care that you don't care, that I don't care' are the words this week. The background is distress oxides with some stencils. The figures are Dylusions painted with watercolour pens. The lady on the left has had several letters from her boyfriend explaining why he doesn't want to see her again, she can't believe it and had started tearing the letters up. Her friend has no sympathy for her as she didn't like the bloke anyway. She is not bothered if her friend knows she doesn't care.

As I have used envelopes (pockets) for the letters, I am entering this in Alison's theme of pocket and tags on Art Journal Journey

Tag Tuesday - Ladybirds

I am hosting Tag Tuesday for the next two weeks and have chosen ladybirds as my theme. We have had a lot in the garden this year, and although they are lovely, they can bite.                                                       My first one is on a mop up piece of card with some die cuts and some stamped images. The second one is again on a mop up page with some stencilling, die cuts and stamped ladybirds. I found a wooden flower with a ladybird on so that went on as well.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Old is the new Black is the saying this week. I was a bit stumped on this one and once again left it to the last minute. I gave two of the figures grey hair and used ones that looks older than some of Dyan's figures. The two ladies have decided that if old is the new black, they could wear some colourful clothes. They have therefore put their black clothes in the recycling bin. As youngsters seem to like wearing black the clothes will suit them.                                                                                                                                       I am entering this in Chris's theme of pockets and tags on Art Journal Journey.

I have my son coming back from Russia on Friday, as he has to re-new his passport and visa, he teaches English in St Petersburg. This means we will be eaten out of house and home, he eats loads and is as thin as a stick. ( I wish I was, well thinner than I am now)

It's rained on and off all week, so am hoping to catch up with housework and art work, but not in that order.

Tag Tuesday - tags of Wonderland

The theme set by Michele on Tag Tuesday is Tags of Wonderland, I love Alice in Wonderland and have made several altered books, but never any tags. For this tag I have used some Alice backing paper and stamped the rabbit and his obsession with time. I couldn't resist putting the Cheshire cat in a cup as well.

I have made the tag the size to fit in pockets in one of my books,

Thursday Journal with Neet

Boys will be boys and so will a lot of middle age men is the quote for this week. My trio have been very naughty and have gone into a ladies beauty department and changed all the price labels. The shampoo is £10 and the perfume on sale for 40p, in fact most of it is at bargain prices. I think the two boys have led the older man on and he has joined in the fun, anything for a peaceful life.

The page is Dylusion inks with a stencil added afterwards in a different colour. The figures are coloured with watercolour pens. I used three different parts of other figures to make the older man.

I have used small tags for the price labels and I can enter it in Alisons theme of  pockets and tags on Art Journal Journey.

We have had the most horrendous storm which took out a 300+ year old oak tree in my daughters garden. They were really lucky that it went in the opposite direction to the house, it was huge and would have done a lot of damage.

Thursday Journal with Neet

'What appears to be the end is usually the start of a new beginning' are the words this week and not easy to  illustrate at all. I left it to the last minute and was still stumped at 10pm Wednesday night. The only thing that sprang to my tired brain was this story. The lady had been living in very casual clothes, old trousers that had all worn into holes, boots and trainers with holes and worn out heals, hats with frayed edges. It was time for a change of image, and that meant new clothes. So here she is in her new image. her old clothes are in the box to throw away.
The box (pocket) I hope qualifies for  Alison's (Craftytrog) theme on Art Journal Journey which is Pockets and tags.
