Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the words are 'If in doubt put a bird on it'  I have used a mop up page that has been brayered for the background.  I stamped a few stitches on the background and used a stencils around the edges, I can now enter it in Halle's theme of A stitch in time on Art Journal Journey.
I chose the figure that already had a bird on her head, and then added some fungi with another bird sitting on top of one of them. That one is looking with some amazement at the one on her head.
This was done late last night as I have been at my daughters since Saturday as she has moved her shop ( marine/tropical fish/ reptiles) to bigger premises, and I made myself useful with a mop, making up shelves and loading them up. I am now very tired and just about to have a shower and go to bed.

Thursday Journal with Neet

'Two heads are better than one' are the words this week.  I started of with a mop up page, and brayered over it. I used stencils for the stitching and dress forms. The lady on the left is asking her friend which dress she should wear at the meeting she is going to. Her friend doesn't look as if she cares either way. She will no doubt make up her own mind.
Dyan's words are on the left, and I have added my own for the question.

I am entering this in on Art Journal Journey, as Halle's theme is a 'stitch in time'

We had the most awful thunder and lightning storm on Tuesday evening that I have experienced for many years. I am on my own this week, and the rain was like a monsoon. It was on the news someone told me.
It found many places to come into the bungalows the gutters were not coping at all. A waterfall outside the kitchen window, everywhere in the back porch, the dining room ceiling where I had to pull one of the inset lights down to let the water out quickly so it didn't bring the ceiling down, and the front door and one of the window sills. I don't now how many towels I used, but filled two sink bowls in the dining room. I didn't know what to tackle first. By 11pm I was so tired I could hardly function properly, but threw all the towels in the washing machine and dried the floors. The next expense will be getting someone in to replace the gutters with bigger ones.

Tag Tuesday - Feathers

It's mine turn to host on Tag Tuesday for the next two weeks and I have chosen Feathers as my theme. The first tag made from a master board I had left over. I stamped feathers on the tag, stamped the dictionary derivation of bird and added a bird and a real feather
The second tag is shaped like a bird and has a wooden bird at the bottom. I have stamped some feathers and there is a real feather on the tail. The third tag is a collection of feathers, die cuts, stamped images and real feathers. A card and wooden bird have been added  to finish off.

Thursday Journal with Neet.

'Let me adjust my crown and get my day started'. These are the words today, and the figure I have chosen has been wanting to make a new outfit. It was that or do the darning, the dress making won.
The background is a mop up page with a brayer and Dyan's paints. I have stamped various haberdashery items and a pattern.

I am entering this in Art Journal Journey where Halle's theme is a stitch in time.

Some more plants in my garden.

My rainbow bed, red through to violet.

My favourite rose , For you with love', it smells wonderful.

Tag Tuesday - Dance-Dancers- Dancing

The theme set by Michele on Tag Tuesday is dance-dancers-dancing. not a subject I have much on, but then remembered a metal sculpture I had taken a photograph of in a local garden.
I sprayed the background with Dylusion inks and used a stencil on top. I fussy cut the figure and put her in a different garden.

Thursday Journal with Neet

' Sorry, but the cat and I have plans for the evening' are the words this week.
The background is Distress inked and then sort of scribbled over. The figure and animals are coloured with watercolour pens. I have added some stitches around the lettering and edges of the page. The lettering of Dyan's on the stamp sheet was too large for the page size, so I typed it and added the speech bubble, as I had made a mess of my own lettering behind it by smudging it. The cat looks smug and the dogs who are not going out look very disgruntled.

I an not sure but hope that this will fit in with Halle's theme of A stitch in time on Art journal Journey
Halle, please feel free to take it off if it doesn't.
