Every Inchie Monday -- Tea

Well at least we won't need to look up the word this week on Every Inchie Monday, everyone knows what tea is. For the sewn one, I have emptied, dried and folded a tea bag and then with great difficulty sewn the words tea bag on the folded tea bag. The stampbord one has a shrink plastic tea cup and part of a teapot.

Paperarsty Challenge -- Masterboards.

For my masterboard I used my brayer to apply Fresco paint in Mermaid, ice blue and limelight to the card. There might be one other colour, but I've slept since then and tidied away the paints I used. I then stamped some background images with Baltic blue and some shimmery Brilliance inks in blue shades. Some white images were stamped at the end. Here are some of the Christmas cards I made with the masterboard.

Tag Tuesday -- Found objects

I seem to have found a real mixture of bits for my tag, including, a spring from a wooden peg, a nail, some crumpled up sweety foil, some rusty wire, a picture hangy thingy, a paper clip and a crisp packet that I shrank. I added one of Tim's lost and found pictures which looks as if it's been lost for some time.

Every Inchie Monday -- Crochet

Crochet is the word this week and I have crocheted a small piece to fit my inch, and drew some with appropriate words on the stampbord one. I hasten to add I had to have several attempts to get one to fit the fabric, and it was very difficult to draw as well, a bit like a difficult tangle.

More Dyan style art journal pages

Here are three more journal pages in Dyan Reaveley style. I am now going to have to put my thinking cap on and come up with some more ideas. I have lots of pages painted ready for some images and words.

Embroidery -- growth

My kitchen is lime green, one wall of my studio is lime green, here is an embroidery in lime green. I suppose I might go off the colour one day, but not in the foreseeable.

The embroidery is based  vaguely on plant growth -- very vaguely.
The base is felt with various bits of silk, scrim, handmade beads and French knots.
I made holes in the felt with a soldering iron and placed it on a textured canvas that I had made for something else. I really enjoyed doing this and am now aiming to finish off some other embroideries that are lurking in my studio.

Tag Tuesday -- Hand Lettered.

For the tags this week I have made two Remembrance Day poppy ones. I did a watercolour poppy on each one and wrote down two of my favourite poems about the poppies that grew in the battlefields after the 1st World War. I added some poppies I made out of organza and added them to one of the tags.

Every Inchie Monday -- Exotic.

There are so many exotic subjects for this word, but not easy to portray on an inch. I went for an orchid on the stampbord one and a bird on the sewn one. The bird is made from beads and some bullion knots for its head plume.

Mixed Media Monthly -- Texture

On http://mixedmediamc.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/mixed-media-monthly-challenge-18-texture.html
The challenge is to make something with texture. A friend gave me a large jigsaw book to do so I have made the cover for it for this challenge. I am making it a steampunk/time theme.
The piece measures 24 x19cm I used some texture paste through a time stencil for the first coat and then painted all over with white gesso. I then painted it with two shades of Fresco paint with a small amount of bronze paint to highlight some of the texture.
Various steampunk and time embellishments were then added.
I have also entered this into the http://sandee-and-amelie.blogspot.co.at/2015/11/our-steampunk-challenge-winter-special.html

Tag Tuesday -- Mini beasts

For my tag this week I have embossed two large oak leaves and placed them on a stencilled and distress inked background. I then stamped and embossed some ladybirds. There are two friendly plastic butterflies and a bee to keep them company.

Every Inchie Monday -- Nymph

Gosh this challenge is getting harder and harder. For the stampbord one, I have drawn a dragonfly nymph and for the sewn one a Sea nymph (a rather buxom one). Well that's what it's supposed to be. Her hair is seaweed, ( embroidery thread really)

I am plodding along still with my journals and have a few more pages finished.

Tag Tuesday -- Secrets

For my tag this week I have made a small diary in which the lady writes all her secrets in. She then locks it up with the padlock and key. I wonder what she has to keep so secret, and who sent her the flowers?
The background is distress inked and stamped with script stamps. The image and words are stamped, and lace and flowers added.

Every Inchie Monday -- Emotion

Another difficult one for Every Inchie Monday this week. It's very hard to display feelings in one inch. I have a happy person and a sad one.
