Fabric page for Annie

This is last months page for Annie which is a take on the work of Maggie Grey. We used the Stitches, Straps, and Layers.
I made some fabric using painted Decovil and added some black FuseFX. I then ironed on some transfer foil. I cut this into strips for the pages. I made some more fabric with coloured muslin embossed onto black felt, and cut that into strips. I added all the strips to a backing fabric and attached them with machine embroidery. At least I think that is what I did.
I made some leaves with organza and free machine embroidery and some braids and added them afterwards.

Tag Tuesday -- Gemini

This fortnight on Tag Tuesday, Wilma has chosen Gemini as her theme. I really struggled with this one, as I just didn't seem to have anything suitable, that is until I found the stamps of the twin men.
I distress inked the background and stamped a background stamp on it. I then typed out what Gemini meant and added some cogs and a clock to finish off.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week it was my choice and boy did I regret it when it came to doing the page. I had chosen grey and orange as the colours, and I then added pink for the third colour. The word was elephant. Although I have lots of elephant images and stamps, finding one to go on the size of page proved to be difficult. I went for a "not" real one in the end to go with the Dylusion figures.
The words were another problem, so I left them until the morning, once again being late with my post. I am going to have to organise myself better than this, as I am away a lot in July.

Every Inchie Monday -- South Africa

This week we are off to South Africa, not somewhere I have an urge to go to. Apart from an organised Safari, I don't think I could drag Peter there under any circumstances. I would love to see all the animals in their natural surroundings though.
I have made an attempt to sew the Protea, the National flower of South Africa, and it was very difficult to give it any dimension.
I have drawn the Springbok, the National animal. It should be longer in the body, but in an inch !!!!

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week it's Art Deco  the colours are Black and red and I've chosen orange as the third colour.
I was a bit stumped with this one and in the end thought of the words before I knew what I was doing.
I used Dylusion paints in the red and orange and drew a sort of Clarice Cliff tree in black. The figures are also Dylusions.

We are off to the far East today on Every Inchie Monday, to Japan. My sewn one is of Mount Fuji with some cherry blossom in the foreground. The card one is a shrink plastic Geisha.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the theme is Jigsaw pieces and the colours blue and copper. I have added a dark blue as my third colour. I'm not sure who chose this subject, I just know I chose the colours. I cut out some jigsaw pieces on the Sizzix and them tried fitting them together. After a struggle I managed to stamp the two dog images on and colour them. Why on earth did I decide to do this, it was not easy.
I did the background in cornflower blue and stencilled over it with dark blue and copper. I had already thought of the words before I started so typed them out and stuck them on.

Open Garden Pictures

Just a few pictures of my garden. We made £1,150 for the NGS charities. A picture heavy post.

Tag Tuesday -- A night at the movies

This fortnight on Tag Tuesday we have Joan choosing the theme of a Night at the Movies. I have at last finished with mt open garden and can now try to catch up.
I have used the film Gandhi to illustrate my tag. He was such an incredible inspiration and ben Kinsley portrayed him so well in the film.

Every Inchie Monday -- Ireland

Nearer home this week in Ireland, I have drawn the National bird which is the Lapwing. I have sewn a shamrock which is the National flower.

Sorry this is a bit brief, but I am absolutely tired out after our open gardens. The weather was brilliant, though a bit too hot. The people looking around were great, but I am pleased it's over.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week we are doing steampunk with the colours being Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. I have added Evergreen Bough as my third colour.
I used a steam punk type stencil on the background, using the evergreen bough on the tea dye and vintage photo background.
The steampunk duck is from Chocolate Baroque and the "normal" bird from Dylusions
I had fun doing this one, even though it was just this morning. It was an excellent alternative to taking one of the cats to the vet.

Every Inchie Monday -- Vatican City

Not an easy one this week as the Vatican City is the smallest state in the world, covering only 44 hectares, and also with the lowest population of approx 1,000. Because of it's situation it has no national bird or animal, so for my sewn one I have sewn a Lily Longiflorum which is their national flower. The large Vatican gardens cover half of the state, so I can only presume that there are lots of lilies there and they are popular with the people who grow them in their own gardens. The card one is their National symbol, I haven't made a very good job of it, but it will have to do.
I have been to the Vatican City, and it wasn't too busy. The Sistine Chapel is fantastic, but makes your neck ache, looking up at the ceiling all the time. I didn't see the Pope
