Tag Tuesday -- Travel

On Tag Tuesday this week, it's the turn of travel. On one tag I coloured the background with Distress inks, and then stamped various images onto inked card. I cut these out, and stuck them on to the tag. I stamped a few post marks on to the tag, and added a shrink plastic Eiffel tower, and Colosseum in Rome.
On the other, I covered the tag with part of a map from a road map of Europe. Again I stamped images on separate card and cut them out. After they were stuck to the tag, I stamped on the tag itself, and added a metal tag brad at the top.

Every Inchie Monday -- Wild

This week on Every Inchie Monday, it's 'Wild', to me this said wild animals. I picked my favourite one, which is the elephant. I made two, and couldn't make up my mind which one I liked best. I inked the background with Distress inks, and stamped on an African tree. I then stamped the elephants onto shrink plastic, and stuck them in place.

Artful Times Challenge -- Masking

The challenge on Artful Times, is to use masking. Not a method I use very often, so it certainly was a challenge. I decided to use Doolally Dorris for the main image, and as the weather has been so sunny, she was going to go out in the garden in her new green welly boots. I stamped her onto the tag, stamped another on paper, and used that as the mask. I then coloured the background and stamped the tree branches and ferns, over the top of the mask. Dorris then had the distress marker treatment, with her stripey dress. The flowers I stuck on afterwards. I am sure I can do better than this given more time, and 6 days to go through all my stamps and find another suitable one to use as a mask.

Tag Tuesday - Fish

On Tag Tuesday the subject is fish. One of my favourite things is the sea and all it encompasses, so I enjoyed doing this one, it will be the first of many.
I  started off by inking a tag with distress inks, and splashing with water. I then stamped some seaweed onto the background, and then some fish on separate bit of card. I coloured the fish, and stuck them onto the tag.
I alcohol inked around the edges of an acrylic tag and stuck that on top. Added some glass bubbles and fibres and that was it.

Every Inchie Monday - Fantasy

On Every Inchie Monday, it's the turn of Fantasy. Not really my scene, but dragons, fairies, and wizards came to mind. Shrink plastic came to the rescue again, as I only had a reasonable stamp of a wizard, that would shrink to the rightsize. I watercoloured the background, and stuck on a small castle, The wizard is holding a shiny orb, probably not visible on the picture.

Tag Tuesday -- The Roaring Twenties

On Tag Tuesday, the subject is the Roaring Twenties. For this tag I inked a manila tag with vintage photo distress ink, and then stamped on a couple of 1920's sewing bills. The girls I stamped on a separate piece of card, cut them out and glued them in place. I decided to keep the colour to vintage and not be tempted to colour in their dresses. I added a few bits of vintage type lace, and some pearls.

Every Inchie Monday -- Friendship

On Every Inchie Monday, the word is friendship. Not the easiest subject to portray on an inch square. I coloured the background and drew some trees with a pen. I then used my usual shrink plastic, using a stamp of two little girls, who look like really good friends.

Tag Tuesday -- Italy

Italy is my first tag for Tag Tuesday, and in this heat my inspiration has shriveled up. First of all I coloured the tag with distress inks in a terracotta colour that reminds me of Italy. I used a torn piece of backing paper from Crafty Individuals, plus one of their images of Venice. The other images I stamped. I then made a shrink plastic mask, and leaning tower of Pisa
. Some ribbon in the Italian colours finished the tag off. I would have liked to have made a fabric one, but the heat has put me off. It's a good job I don't live in Italy, I wouldn't get anything done.

Every Inchie Monday - A story

On Every Inchie Monday we have to try to get a story onto an inch square. Not an easy task. I decided to sew this one, and Little Red Riding Hood came to mind. As you can see, I only managed to get a tiny bit of the wolf on, and that only after several terrible attempts. I cannot draw animals, let alone sew them. Little red riding hood looks like a witch, and you can hardly see the wolf, but it will have to do.
