This is a page I made for my textile course homework with Hilary Beattie. It's all paper and we were asked to use only paper and to get used to sewing on it, rather than with fabric. Hilary uses a lot of paper in her work. I am finding it a bit strange, but will get used to it in time. The leaves are from Gelli prints and the paper coloured with Procyon dyes.

Wow- this is amazing Wendy. I love the texture you created and those leaves really pop right off the page. It makes a beautiful piece. Happy weekend. Hugs-Erika
Oh Wendy this is fabulous. I LOVE the way those leaves are placed on the page. Now you are joining MY area of expertise. I can't draw, cant cut, but I can sew paper to paper. Once you get used to it, you will be hooked. BTW, be sure to keep your needle and bobbin area clean of fuzz. It builds up quickly, after about two pages. A small brush will become your best friend, and don't forget to oil the moving parts often, too. It's a bit different from sewing on fabric.
This page is beautiful - I love it, and I think Hilary will too. I am tempted to try another on line course but must first persuade my camera, printer and laptop to play nicely together. I can't figure out which is the naughty one.
Stunning page, Wendy. LOVE those leaves and the fact that they're stitched just makes them more amazing. Beautiful.
