Tag Tuesday - Mostly Monochrome.

Michelle's theme on Tag Tuesday is 'Mostly Monochrome' and I have used my favourite colour - Turquoise. I used a Lynn Perrella stamp and added some flowers and tiny letter tags.

Thursday Journal with Neet

I like long walks - away from people. these are the words for this week and  Amelia is explaining to her poodle Fee why she has just said those words to her. Amelia is not very popular amongst her contemporaries, she has airs and graces that tend to annoy the others. She doesn't have a better job or more money than them, but makes it sound as if she has. Some of her friends have normal dogs, many of them mongrels, but no not Amelia she has to have a spoilt poodle. So her main exercise takes the form of walks, long ones in the countryside away from people.                                                                                          Fee is not liking this at all. Not only is she clad in a ridiculous hat, coat and tail warmer, but has had to wear little wellington boots that match her outfit, which are very uncomfortable. To add insult to injury she is also in the same colours as Amelia.

On Art Journal Journey,  Sheila's theme is 'A single flower' which Amelia has just picked on her walk. Even that matches their outfits.

Paint Party Friday 10th year Anniversary.

It's the 10th Anniversary of Paint Party Friday this week.  This is my painting of Fat Ball, ( the name we have given him) a pheasant who rules the coming and goings in our garden. He had found the fat ball feeder on the bird table and helps himself on a daily basis. He also swears at any one who has the nerve to go in the garden. The cats sensibly avoid him. The two photos show him looking at the empty fat ball feeder, the second one after we had filled it up. He's so fat I'm surprised he can still fly.

                                                                    What- No fat balls

                                                                        That's better

Tag Tuesday - Things with wings

Pinky has chosen Things with wings for the challenge on Tag Tuesday. For this I have chosen a bird and some butterflies. The background has some old book pages,  which I then inked over with distress inks and added some stamped background images.

Thursday Journal with Neet

"I don't mind the heat, it's the kitchen I can't stand" these are the words this week that Neet and I are illustrating.                                                                                                                                                       Diane is not fond of cooking at the best of times, but today the heat is quite fierce, so Diane is in as little clothing as she can manage. Tom the cat has had his meal and is going out in the cool. As he leaves Diane says to him " I don't mind the heat, it's the kitchen I can't stand" She had noticed that even her single flower picked from the garden was wilting badly.

I have drawn a set of kitchen cupboards and worked the scene around it. The figure is Dylusions and coloured with watercolour pens. The cupboards with distress inks.

In a bit of a hurry as I have left this until the last minute, but it does fit in with Sheila's theme of a single flower on Art Journal Journey.

Paint Party Friday Week 54

For  Paint Party Friday this week I have painted a sparrow. I'm a bit late today as I have had all three of my kids here and all I seem to do is cook.

Thursday Journal with Neet

The secret ingredient is resentment, those are the words to illustrate this week.                                Annabel, sitting on her house shaped stool is telling her friend Jenny all about her boyfriend. Jenny had heard most of it before but stood quietly listening to the latest moan. 'Would you believe it" she said, "he didn't even get me a bunch of red roses this year for Valentines Day, all I received was this single rose, and even that is pink not red. I didn't get chocolates, or a night out , but did get a cheap card with sloppy sentiments in it. He'll have to go, he obviously thinks chocolates will make me fat and a meal out would be a bit expensive when he can cadge a meal with me in my flat. As far as I am concerned at the moment the secret ingredient is resentment. I'm going to put an advert in the local singles column, there is bound to be someone better than him. What do you think Jenny?" Jenny didn't know what to say, so didn't say anything at all.

On Art Journal Journey this month,  Sheila has chosen A single flower for her theme. so this fits in with that.

Thursday Journal with Neet

"My age doesn't bother me, it's the side effects" are this weeks words. For a change I made a background with long forgotten and hardly used pan Pastels. I quite like the soft effect they give, and I used a stencil on top. I gave the figure (Joan) grey hair, and three cats to keep her company. She is holding a single flower which fits in with the theme of A single flower, on Art Journal Journey, set by Sheila of Orange Esmerelda.                                                                                                                                                      The writing below the words highlights some of the side effects Joan finds with getting older. memory Loss, You talk to yourself, then answer as well, It's difficult to pick up things off the floor, Grey thinning hair, You can't remember why you went into the room and what you meant to fetch, The Grandchildren keep asking you how old you are, they can't believe anyone its that old. The list goes on, but Joan would rather talk to her cats than think of any more.
