Paint party Friday Week 52

 On Paint Party Friday this week I have painted a Chaffinch. These used to be very common in the UK, but their numbers have declined in recent years, we do have quite a few here as we live in a very rural county.

" To don't" are the words to conquer this week. Instead of the usual list like a To Do List this one is a Don't list.  Grace is trying her best to be good and reasonable, but can't get round to it without a list to tick off if and when she does what is on her fast growing list.  The first thing on the list is :                                        1. Don't buy any more shoes, Grace has two cupboards full of them, and there is no more room for any more.                                            

2.  Don't annoy the dog. Grace will keep teasing it and the poor thing is getting fed up with given bones as big as himself, and taking him for brisk walks that are too long and fast for his short legs.                            3.  Don't go shopping every day, it isn't necessary.                                                                                           4.  Don't leave everything until the last minute. This is her favourite one, Grace is very good at leaving things until she really has to do them, or find everything in a mess.  This is only the start of the list, and she thought it would do to start off with.

I am entering this on Art Journal Journey where Valerie's theme is Heavy metal. I have used gold ink to go around all the rectangular shape around the edge and gold on the list. They do not show up very well on the scan.

 

Tag Tuesday - Steampunk

 The theme on Tag Tuesday, set by Sandie is Steampunk.   The background is a piece of old invoice  with some embossed metal around the edges. Stamped images were added with some tape, cogs and part of an old measure tape.                                                                 

Tag Tuesday - Black and white and one other colour

Another tag for Valerie's theme of Black and white and one other colour on Tag Tuesday. This time a white tag with circles on the top half and my colour at the bottom, overlaid with a flower stamped piece of acrylic.  I have added a small amount of the colour to the circles.

Paint Party Friday Week 51

 For this week on Paint Party Friday I have painted a bullfinch. I have already seen some of these in the garden, busy eating the blossom buds on my cherry tree.

Thursday Journal with Neet

I was really stuck with this one : Drama Shield - Active. are the words to illustrate this week. My background is a mop up page with red distress inks on top to lessen some of the stencil markings of the mop up. The figures are Dylusions, painted with watercolour pens.                                                    Charlotte sitting on the large sunflower cushion has been telling her friend Bronwen all about her various dramas, including loosing her dog when they were out walking,  not being able to go to the gym and keep fit because of lockdown, and therefore putting on weight. She needed some new clothes and needed to go to a posh shop and try some on, again lockdown was preventing to what in her mind was very important. The list went on and on, and apart from loosing the dog, Bronwen didn't think any of the other things were important, and immediately activated her drama shield. She just looks bored and is no longer listening. Charlotte can't see that Bronwen is bored and not listening as she has put a cold press over her eyes to help her headache go away. I am entering this in Art Journal Journey where Valerie's theme is Heavy Metal. I have given Charlotte a golden crown and shoes, and there is some metallic ink on the background.

                                      

Tag Tuesday - Black and white and one other colour

Valerie's theme on Tag Tuesday is Black and white and one other colour. My tag is made with black tissue, a daisy paper a daisy stamped image and a napkin daisy, with brads  in white and orange to match the napkin daisy.3  

Paint Party Friday Week 50

  A pied wagtail this week for Paint Party Friday. One of our frequent visitors, running along the top of our roof to catch the flies. I love the way their tales wag up and down. Sometimes we see a grey wagtail, but very rarely a yellow one. We live in the wrong area for those.

Thursday Journal with Neet

 This weeks words are: I really have no method - just madness. Gosh where to start. Amanda has a large  cat and a bird for her pets, the  Jinks the cat far bigger than is normal and looking very pleased with himself. Tweets the bird is looking at her hopefully. They both spy their dinner on her head and are waiting for permission to eat it. They are hoping that the bird of prey legs are not part of the meal as they look a bit tough. Amanda is of course somewhat odd, hence her excuse of " I really have no method, just madness" Well you would have to be to have a cat that big and to pinch the fish off a bird of prey.

I am entering this in Art Journal Journey, where Valerie's theme is heavy metal. The background has gold mica in the ink and there is bronze paint on her dress ( not very visible on the scan) I have also edged the words with Bronze paint.

Paint Party Friday Week 49

 A Greenfinch this week for Paint Party Friday. We sometimes get these in the garden along with chaffinches. This is a bird I remember drawing in my teens and for some reason that has stayed in my memory.

thursday Journal with Neet

 Gosh this was a difficult one, not only to portray but to link to Art journal Journey where the theme is Heavy Metal set by Valerie.                                                                                                                                I started off by making an outdoor scene with Distress inks and choosing a family of figures. It starts off with dad who is wearing a bronze telephone, then mum who has a hairstyle of metal cogs, then one of the young sons,  The family bird comes next and he is also wearing a cog crown. the two eldest children are next and the the dog and the cat, who seems to have pinched the dogs bone. The other young son also wearing a cog crown is at the end. A very mixed bunch of slightly weird family members. As the dad said to one of his friends " our family is one tent away of a full blown circus"

 Another fantasy bird for one of my lessons on Life Book. The tutors was in oranges, reds etc, so why I went for pink I am not quite sure. I don't do pink !!
