THURSDAY JOURNAL WITH NEET

This week the words are ' Never be too proud to serve frozen peas'  Claudia was having some posh friends round for dinner and having spent a small fortune on venison and new potatoes (out of season) she had forgotten to buy the vegetables. Having to resort to the freezer, she takes out a bag of frozen peas. Claudia decided just ordinary frozen peas would not do, so she spent a while looking up a recipe. At last something a bit different, using onions, garlic and stock.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in chopped onion; cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in 2 chopped cloves of garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add 3 cups of frozen peas, and stir in stock. Season with salt and pepper. Cover, and cook until the peas are tender, about 5 minutes

That looked OK, so off she went and cooked them just before her guests arrived. The meal went down really well, and Claudia was so grateful for the internet.

The background is distress inks and stencils and the Dylusion figure was coloured with watercolour pens. I used texture paste for the small dots and stencils for the rest.

I am entering this in Art Journal Journey where Jo's theme is texture.

I've done that before - cut and pasted. That is why you get that white background to the words. It doesn't matter though and thanks for the recipe.
Great idea and she does look rather Hyacinth Bouquet'ish in her outfit so I felt that was a good choice of figure to use. Great background too.
Hugs, Neet xx
ps enjoy your holiday

Using the photo of the bowl of peas is brilliant and really pops off the page. It sure works perfect with this weeks quote. I am glad our hostess was able to get those peas just perfect for ehr expensive dinner party. Love the page Wendy and glad you were able to join Jo's challenge at Art Journal Journey again! Thanks.Hugs-Erika

I also liked the beautiful colors you created and the lovely texture, too. I actually enjoyed this week's quote because, unlike some you and Neet work on, this one made sense. You were smart to use the bowl of peas. It gave an added texture, along with the texture paste to Jo's theme at Art Journal Journey.
