Thursday Journal with Neet.

'Be bold, or Italic, never Regular' these were the words this week and a really difficult one to portray. I messed about with lots of my figures and different heads and decided on this one. It's bold if nothing else, and apart from making her lean on an angle I was really stumped. I thought that her head attire was fairly bold, I mean who goes around with deer on their heads. I already had a green background so dressed her in green and red, her pet bird also is in the same colours. I can therefore add its to Eileen's theme on Art Journal Journey as her theme is green.

As we will soon be confined to the house as we are over 70 I should get plenty of time to keep up with my art work, especially as there is a likelihood that our course exhibition will be cancelled as well. The weather is awful as usual so gardening is out as well. What a situation the world is in, it's depressing.
So I'll oil the sewing machine and get lots of work done. I could even get my journal pages done well in advance, but don't hold your breath on that one.

Oh I love her... quirky, original and definitely italic - and I do so agree with the words (though they're different from Neet's words today - I'm confused!). The contrasting red and green is so eye-catching - an unintentional mention of that amazing eye... it clearly got under my skin. The background stencilling is really beautiful.

Meant also to say good luck with the imminent lockdown. Hope you've got support structures around you. My mother won't be able to do her usual departure to the Czech Republic, so I will also be in a household with an over-70 year old, as well being part of the caring for our 102-yr old neighbour, so we've been pretty much self-isolating for nearly three weeks already. It's going to get worse before it gets better I fear, but it's so good that we have this absorbing hobby and online community to stay connected.

Good luck with your plans for isolation. Maybe it wont be so bad - I've stocked up of art and craft supplies.
This lady is certainly a bit italic, but I rather like her coat!
Keep safe.

Oh heck - have I got the wrong one this week. I thought I was in front with the pages so I have already done the Bold/Italic/Regular one and that is the one I meant I was having problems with. Wait till you see it - you will know what I meant about not understanding it.
Your lady is very Christmassy with her red and green and it certainly has lots of green for the challenge.
Hugs, Neet xx
ps so we play catch up next week

Good morning, I love this one! and thank you so much for your encouraging words on my page-I needed a bit of support in my new art medium endeavors.
This is really a mess the world is in-we got caught moving into a new home and now not being able to have an auction for selling etc. oh well our new home is on the lake so we can enjoy the beauty here. We loved out woods home over the last 20 years but we needed something smaller now-we are in our 70s too and Hubs has major health issues so I am reminding him Not to go out in public-as it warms up he can go out the back door and throw a line in and catch fish haha
take care of yourselves Kathy

I'm not sure you will even see this comment. It's so late because I have been offline off and on for over six days. Just when I think my internet is stable again, I get kicked off. Of course, I'm more "with it" than Neet seems to be this week. I had to laugh when I read her comment.

I genuinely love your lady. I WANT that deer hat! It's awesome. I also like the way you incorporated green and red in your art this week. It was perfect for AJJ. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey, using Eileen's green theme.
