Thursday Journal with Neet

Neet's choice this week with the words 'Laugh till you leak, it just makes it funnier' As Dyan doesn't do happy laughing faces it wasn't easy to find a figure that would fit the bill. This one sitting on a house with her two little companions I thought would do. I left it until the last minute again, as I have been at one daughters and spent today with the youngest one as it was her birthday. Surely my three kids cannot be that old, can they !!
It has been so hot it's difficult to find the energy to do anything. I did manage to put some plants in  this morning,  as we had thunder storms and heavy rain last night. Ideal conditions to put some new young plants in the new flower beds.
I am now going to make a new background for my textile course, which is taking up a lot of my time.
Really enjoying it, even though other things have been sidelined.

Tag Tuesday -- Circles

Another tag for my theme on Tag Tuesday, with some more of my painted faces. ( I really must get back into my art courses, now sadly neglected)
A distress inked background and circles cut out for the paintings.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Neet's choice of the words 'I'm a rainbow sprinkle in a vanilla world'. To me this said a vanilla coloured background, a bright figure in rainbow colours, with others figures completely colourless.
I did stencil on some leaves as it looked so bare.

I have been digging a new flower bed today and am now ready for my own bed. Hopefully that will be the last of the difficult digging. All the new beds we have dug seemed to be a deposit for rocks and concrete by the builders who built the extension on the end of the bungalow.( before our time )
I think I now have repetitive strain injury in my right wrist. You would think I would know better at my age. Those who know me need not comment on that statement.

Tag Tuesday -- Circles

It's my turn to host for the next fortnight on Tag Tuesday, and I have chosen Circles. I have made backgrounds with Distress inks and used photocopies of my own face paintings (much reduced)
I then cut them into circles and placed them on the tags. I have written sayings around them about circles.
The last one is a very simple one with stamps and drawing on the inside of a circle stencil, with buttons added.

Homework for my textile course

The homework this time is one of our final pieces. We had to crop photos or drawings and make some work with them. I chose poppies and put them on three separate canvases. The background is stitched to represent fields.

Tag Tuesday -- Here comes the sun

Gosh, have I struggled with this theme. Michele has chosen 'Here comes the sun' for her theme on Tag Tuesday
https://tagtuesday.blogspot.com/2019/07/here-comes-sun.htmlNone of my stamps seemed to fit the bill, so I have used a photograph of some Californian poppies that I grew from seed. This one seemed to say sunshine to me.
The background is distress inked with texture paste used through the sun ray stencil.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week I have been out in the garden working on three new flower beds. I was very relaxed about doing my journal page early evening on Wednesday. Wrong, my daughter called us Wednesday morning for us to spend the evening looking after the two youngest grandchildren, as the oldest was in the school play and dad was in London. Over we go and sort the youngsters out and then eat with Claire when she came home with Max ( a barber in the play)

This lefts me an hour to do my page when we came home, fifteen minutes to make my scanner work and a few minutes to get it on my blog. So much for a relaxed evening.
The background is inked with Dylusion inks, with stencils used afterwards. I used one of Dyan's border stencils with black soot distress ink. The main figure is Dylusion with some Paperartsy stamps for the little people.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Another difficult one to find the right figure for, the words being 'Of course I talk to myself, I need expert advice'
Again the background is distress inked with stencils and stamps used on top. Although I have inked some double pages for the next few weeks I thought this one only needed a single page. I did it Monday night as I need to get this done early as I am off on my textile course on Wednesday.
I also have a really bad stomach upset and feel awful. I rarely get anything like this and must have picked up a bug somewhere. Anyway I don't feel like doing much and am not eating, hopefully I will manage to go on Wednesday. Not a very nice way to loose weight.
