Thursday Journal with Neet

"I don't know what your problem is, but I know it's not mine" Well that's not a problem shared by the sound of it. Astrid on the left has been having big fall outs with her parents, about what time she should be in at night, the type of boy she shouldn't be going out with and to cap it all she was to start doing her own washing and ironing. Gosh they just have to be joking she thought. She had also been in a bad mood with her friend Jayne who was very laid back, nothing seems to bother her. Perhaps she had a better relationship with her parents than Astrid did. Astrid did wonder about telling her friend all about the problems, but realised Jayne would not see them the same as her so so didn't bother. Jayne knew something was wrong and decided to forestall the expected moans by saying " I don't know what your problem is, but I know it's not mine. In other words, don't tell me, I don't want tot know.

I am linking this to Art Journal Journey where Alison's theme is Summer Countryside.

Lovely story, lovely background and figures. I do like the leaves on the right hand side of the page, looks good the way you have coloured them darker than the others. So glad I do not have teenagers to contend with and I do believe in them learning to look after themselves but I think washing their own clothes is a bit too far. Maybe I am too soft a mum. Or am I thinking of the extra water and detergent that is being used?

Absolutely delightful page ... there's a summery lightness about the visuals which captures the snark of the comment, even though each of them clearly has darker problems to deal with. When you've got the summer countryside to enjoy, you definitely don't need other people's problems getting in the way! Thanks so much for joining us in the Summer Countryside again at Art Journal Journey.

I like the high contrast of the background with the clothes of the women/girls and the leaves. Astrid's dress is all about summer and it is perfect for Alison's theme at Art Journal Journey. This is such fun and the back story is hilarious.

Poor Astrid, but perhaps it is her teenage eyes making things seems worse than they are. Parents can be pretty bad, but they aren't all that bad. But this weeks quote is a good one. The leaves make this the perfect summer countryside page, as well as the background, snarkiness and all. Thanks for sharing this page with us at AJJ. It is always fun to see what stories and pages you come up with. Have a great end of JUly! hugs-Erika

I love your leafy setting! I'm sure this is a common complaint of teens around the world, hugs, Chrisx
