Paint Party Friday - Week 12 Year 11

For Paint Party Friday this week I have painted a starling. They are very common in the UK and fly around in huge numbers, making fantastic shapes in the sky called murmurations.

Thursday Journal with Neet

I have left it to the last minute again, and I really should get myself organised. I had already done the background but had no figures ready coloured.                                                                                      Anthea on the left didn't really want to talk to her friend today as she was in a bit of a mood. She had been talking incessantly for about an hour to herself, telling herself about all the things she needs to do, and how well she would do them. The next conversation was about her mother who she found rather irritating, and Sally was getting a bit fed up with it so she butted in. Anthea was a bit annoyed, put her hand on her hips and said "Please don't interrupt me while I'm trying to ignore you"

I am entering this in Art Journal Journey where Elle's theme is Language. That remark from Anthea says it all.

Tag Tuesday - Vegetables/fruit

Pinky has chosen Fruit and/or vegetables for her theme on Tag Tuesday. My page is distress inked and has stampings of pears that I have coloured with crayons. I love pears and their shape.

Art Journal Journey - Language.

Elle has chosen Language for her theme on Art Journal Journey and this is one I did for my Life Book journal.  It's called the garden of joy.

The language of flowers, they say a lot if given as a gift, they cheer us up in the garden, they are used as food and for medicine. I am a plant addict and just love them.

Thursday Journal with Neet.

" I know you were talking - That's why I stopped listening" are the words this week.                                Daisy, kneeling on the floor has been listening to her friend Anne for ages. Anne has been telling her all about her latest trip to the shops and what she had bought, and how she was going to wear the best outfit to go to dinner with her new boyfriend. Daisy was bored beyond belief and had started to think of other things in another time and place. Anne had noticed a certain lack of questions and interest and had queried Daisy about this. Daisy had just said " I know you were talking - That's why I stopped listening"

Paint Party Friday Week 9 Year 11

Two this week for Paint Party Friday. Two members of the thrush family, a fieldfare and a red wing. I'm not sure why my scanners puts those two yellow stripes down the sides, it only ever does it on these.  Have a good weekend everyone, it's raining in the UK so I have a very soggy garden, so studio here I come.

Thursday Journal with Neet

"Does running away from your problems count as exercise" These are the words for this week, and no they don't.  Celia seems to think she has lots of problems, like: what to wear to the local dance, what do do to the garden which is full of weeds, should she change her old car, what should she do about her mum who insists on phoning her every day, and what to do about the guy at work who insists she is his ideal partner, and she doesn't like him at all. She would just like to run away from it all, and asks her dog, Freddie "does running away from your problems count as exercise?" Why she thinks Freddie would know, is very odd. for a start he has his slippers on and doesn't ever do exercise. He likes himself the way he is, he can't understand what all the fuss is about, he doesn't have any problems. The only time he gets any exercise is when he chases next doors cat out of their garden. Not a problem.

I am entering this in Art Journal Journey where Elle's theme is language. I have put the way this can be interpreted below.

This month's theme of language, can be interpreted in many ways - your own language, language of flowers, language of love, words, books, communication, sign language, gestures, symbols, icons, or even your own "art" language meaning your own favourite things you like to use, colours, materials, things that you use when creating, that become your own unique signature style.

Tag Tuesday - Sports.

Sandie has chosen Sport for her theme on Tag Tuesday. I have absolutely nothing on this subject at all, no stamps, no pictures. I racked my brain and came up with sports day at my grandchildrens school. Because of Covid it didn't happen last hear, so this is from a few years ago. Harry is the one in second place and   was really chuffed he actually ended up with a little medal.

I used corrugated card for the base and rolled some acrylic paint on top. I then used some texture paste for some texture and some old book pages.

Paint Party Friday Week 8 Year 11

This week on Paint Party Friday I have painted a Great tit. One of the larger of the tit family, they are fairly common in the UK and we see them regularly on our bird feeders. They have the very distinctive black stripe down their breast which distinguishes them from the blue tit.

Thursday Journal with Neet

" I don't want to do things, things suck" are the words for this week and Doreen and her friend Nancy have been discussing what to do at the weekend. Doreen has suggested several nice pursuits to fill in the weekend, like going for a walk in the countryside, going to a stately home with a lovely garden, go to a show in the evening, or go out for a super meal. Nancy does not want to do anything, especially if it involves anything strenuous. She would be quite happy sitting and doing nothing. Doreen came out with a few more suggestions and all she got back from Nancy was "I don't want to do things, things suck"

I have adhered some of the Dylusion collage pieces to the background.                                                       The theme set by Elle (Empire of the cat) on Art Journal Journey is Language. Elle explains that it can be interpreted  with the language of flowers, colour, books, your own art, symbols etc as well as the language of words, gestures between humans.
