Thursday Journal with Neet

This time the words are "Every animal knows more than you do"
To portray this I have a lady reclining on a sun bed and getting burnt under the sun, until she is the same colour as a lobster. Her friend thinks she has been very foolish to get burnt and  tells her that animals would know better. The animals are sheltering under trees and therefore not getting burnt, and boy do they look smug.

Tag Tuesday - The Sea

Sandie’s theme on Tag Tuesday is The sea, and I have just spent a week at the seaside with my Grandchildren. My tag this time is distress inked and the the lighthouse was stamped on card and painted with watercolour paints. I added some die cuts and real shells.

Thursday Journal with Neet.

Here's a straw, suck it up, get over it and move on' is the quote this week. I have used hot colours again in line with Erika's theme of 'When it's hot' on Art Journal Journey.
The background is another mop up page with added distress ink to blend it all together.
The lady sitting on the mushroom has just fallen out with her boyfriend, and her friend holding a straw, has no sympathy for her at all. Why mope about something like that on a lovely sunny day.
A mixture of heads and legs to make up the figures and coloured with watercolour pens. As you read this, i am at the seaside in Wales with my three grandchildren, who love the water, which I will be looking at at a distance. Well I might just paddle, I haven't owned a swimming costume for years. why would I, I can't swim !!

Tag Tuesday - The Sea

The theme set by Sandie onTag Tuesday is the sea. As a child we always went to the same small seaside village and rented a bungalow called Bernina, which had a beach hut. Wonderful, I loved it and still love beach huts or Summerhouses. Next month one is being erected in our garden, my first Summerhouse in 75 years.
The tag background is Distress inked and some texture paste added at the seas edge and on the sand. The beach huts stamped on card and added . The seagulls are die cuts.

Thursday Journal with Neet

The words this week are 'If you are already walking on thin ice you may as well dance. What a difficult  one this one was. None of the figures Dyan has produced look anything like they want to dance, so I went for this one. She looks as if she has been breaking some rules, so might as well enjoy herself on such a lovely sunny day.
The background is distress oxides with a few different stencils. The cats are from Tim Holtz and Katzelkraft
We are away in Wales next week so it will be a scheduled post.

Thursday Journal with Neet

The words this week 'Shut up and colour' and I could only think of one thing to do. It's a lovely sunny day and the little girl is want, want, want. Mum has had enough so is giving her a colouring book and some crayons to see if that will keep her occupied for more that a few minutes.

I have included some sun rays and can enter this page in Erika's theme of 'When it's hot' on Art Journal Journey
It's been raining for a couple of days so I haven't been able to go in the garden,. I have managed to do some sewing and am on the finishing stage of a fabric book. It's called in the style of, in other words every page is based on the style of a well known textile artist. I just have the cover to make now.

This is the latest one in the style of Alison Holt. It is all free hand machine embroidery and the fabric puckered around the tree as there is so much stitching on it. Must practice more. It's the oak tree on the edge of our garden.

Tag Tuesday -- Put a sentiment on it

Valerie's theme on Tag Tuesday is 'Put a sentiment on it'
For this tag I covered the background in a Tim Holtz paper and added some images, braid, a flower, and a charm. The lady is dreaming of going to Paris.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Not an easy one this week, and I have left it until the last minute. I believe in unicorns is the saying, and I have chosen  the little girl on the right to believe in them.  Her older friend of course does not believe in unicorns and has no idea that there is a pink one at the back of her peeping out of the flowers. Just in case you are wondering why it is pink, it's because little girls love pink. The sun is shining and it's rays are opening up the flowers.
I think this is enough to enter Erika's theme of 'When it's hot'  on Art Journal Journey
