Thursday Journal

I hope my ship comes in before my dock rots'  are the words this week'.      My background is distress oxide inks using a scrap page that I used an old stencil on. I used the stencil ink side and used a wet wipe to get the ink off and onto the page. I then used a green over the top to fill in the gaps.

Martha had gone to see her cousin Pauline and was a bit worried about her, she hadn't seen her for days.

"What's up with you, you look as if you are having a rough time" Martha asked.

"Where do you want me to start? " Pauline replied.

Martha was now wishing she hadn't asked, and reckoned she was in for a long spell of moaning.         "Well you might as well tell me, better than sitting there bottling it all  up" Martha said.

"First of all I have this awful cold that's going around, then I lost my job, then I had a row with my mum who thinks I'm not trying to find another job. After that I didn't think anything else could go wrong, but then my car ground to a halt, I think that's all at the moment" Pauling stated sarcastically.

"Well let's look at each problem one at a time. First of all, you will get over your cold, that's only temporary, You hated that job, so find one you really like, you are well qualified.  Your mum won't be mad at you for long, and get my boyfriend to look at your car for you, that's his job after all. See there you go, no problems.

"That's OK for you, I just hope my ship comes in before my deck rots"replied Pauline.

I laughed so hard at that sentence!!!
It's a story about having so much bad luck, yet finding hope again through your girlfriend!
The two friends are beautifully portrayed, and I always love their outfits! The imaginative background is fabulous too!
Have a wonderful week! hugs Elke
