Tag Tuesday - Animals

Pinkie's theme on Tag Tuesday is animals, which gives us lots of scope. Could I think of something, no, really struggled for some reason. Maybe lack of time has not helped, too much gardening. I have chosen one of my Katzelkraft dog stamps. who is being very good and not eating his bone until he's been told he can.
The background is Distress oxides, with some stamped leaves and then lace one added on top.

Thursday Journal

This week had me stumped again with the words 'Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections'  I had a page ready with a flower background, so can make it my last entry in Art Journal Journey for this month where Mia's theme is Flowers.
The background is Distress oxides with darker shades through a stencil. I thought the figure looks as if she has resigned herself to put up with a few imperfections, although I don't think she found very many as she has a trim figure, colour co-ordinated matching outfit, and a nice pet.

I have been in the garden again this week, trying to get my seedling plants in. The ground is like concrete, and I have to water everything in, takes so long, and really it's too hot most of the day, and by the evening I'm too tired to do any more.
Some pictures taken yesterday in the garden.

These iris flowers are 9 inches across, and the slugs or snails have chewed through the stem, so it's now in a vase in the sitting room. It smells heavenly.

Unusual coloured rhododendron, a cutting from my garden in Wales.

Thursday Journal with Neet.

This week certainly had me stumped, and as usual I left it to the last minute. Mind you that does tend to make me think quickly. Every week at the moment I tell myself to get it done early. I think because I am not leaving the home and garden and have nothing planned for weeks ahead my discipline has gone awol.
I have used a mop up page again which already had flowers on. I added some more and covered up the  middle with some found coloured deli paper. The middle was a real mess, so best covered up. I used a piece of card that I had sprayed, and adhered the figure to that. I drew some broken crayons in a vain attempt to stick to the saying.

I am adding this to Art Journal Journey where Mia's theme is flowers.

Tag Tuesday - Haberdashery

Haberdashery is the theme on Tag Tuesday, and this is my second tag. Where do the days go, I thought I had plenty of time to put this one on. This time it's a vintage type tag. I used an old pattern for the background and stamped images of a dress form, press studs and instructions in a german font. I added buttons and a safety pin to finish off.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the words are "I thought you said medicate, oh you said meditate"
Well that would be easy to muddle up if you weren't listening properly, my husband hardly ever hears  properly what I really ask him to do !!!
The background was a mop up page, and I used it out of necessity as I had just had a non event birthday yesterday, and I forgot all about doing this page. The figures are a mix of bodies and heads and coloured with watercolour pens. The lady reclining on the ground looks as if she has taken too many pills as indicated by the amount of bottles next to her. Her friend just looks exasperated with her.  So last minute once again.
I used a flower stencil for the background and edges so I can enter it in Mia's theme of flowers on Art Journal Journey

Tag Tuesday - Haberdashery

Michele has taken over the theme for this fortnight on Tag Tuesday, in place of Sandie who is looking after her daughter who is very sick.
This is one of my favourite subjects, as I do a lot of sewing. This tag is on a piece of card that was sprayed with inks and has some glitter added on top. I used another tag that I ripped in half in the bottom right, and a dress form that someone sent to me. I added some scissors and buttons to finish off.

Thursday journal with Neet

I don't know how to put this nicely, so I won't. These are the words for this week, and I have left doing this until the last minute. Does anyone else find the days slip past without you noticing.
I have done a lot of gardening again this week and some more printing and dyeing on fabric and paper. One throw made and one cushion cover, two more nearly done. I am now making a journal to put my garden news and pictures in. I have printed and dyed the paper for this as well.
This journal page was using a border that I had already done. I added some flowers and leaves, so I can enter this in Art Journal Journey for Mia's theme of flowers
The background is distress ink and the figures coloured with watercolour pens.
The lady on the right is saying the words, as she thinks the other lady looks ridiculous with a posh outfit and then wearing leaves on her head.

 My throw and cushion.
