Thursday Journal with Neet

'I'm an acquired taste, if you don't like me, acquire some taste" I had a page already  for this  with a background of spayed Dylusion inks. I used a few stencils on top using Distress oxide inks. The figures both acquired new beds  and painted with watercolour pens.
My two youngest grandchildren came over on Tuesday and had a sleepover. By the time my son in law came over to fetch them at lunchtime on Wednesday, I could have curled up somewhere warm and fallen asleep.

Another piece of course work.

I have just finished this piece for my textile course. It's my first attempt at a sea theme.
The large fish is a print taken from a rubber fish. The two striped fish were masks made out of wallpaper on a silk screen, and the pattern on them is the reverse side of the wallpaper, taking up the colour from the screen  The background is all made with Indian block prints and then over-dyed with Procion dye.

Tag Tuesday - Anything goes

Valerie is hosting this fortnight on Tag Tuesday and has chosen Anything goes. Lots of scope there, which usually leaves me without knowing where to start. As some pressed leaves fell out of my book that's wa=hat I went for. I used a mop up piece of paper stuck onto a tag, added the leaves, tiny acorns, a small pine cone, and a twig charm.

Thursday Journal with Neet

At my age, one should ration one's excitement" are the words this week. I decided to go with pink this time as the lady looks like  she would have a pink rinse if she felt brave enough. The look on her face and her grey hair seem to suit the quote. Being a butterfly is about as much as she can cope with for excitement. Her dog isn't exactly full of energy and excitement either.
The page is distress inks with stencils and stamping on top, and done in a hurry again.

Thursday Journal with `Neet

This week the words are ' I'm not and early bird, or a night owl. I'm some form of permanently exhausted pigeon'
I used a background that was the right hand side of a previous double page I had made. It's Dylusion inks sprayed on and then the page pressed onto the opposite one.  I thought this figure had the right stance and look for the quote.
This is a scheduled post as I am in Telford with one of my daughters at the Aqua trade exhibition where you see and order all the new things for your marine and reptile shop.

Tag Tuesday - Autumn

Joan is hosting Tag Tuesday for this fortnight with the theme of Autumn.
I have recycled some small tags with small pieces of scrap paper in Autumn colours, and added some stencil marks on the top. A word was added for each one. No stamping was used in this exercise.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the words are 'If you figure me out, I want an explanation' The lady on the left certainly has some issues and does need an explanation. Why does she have wings and a bird on her head disguised as a hat and why does she have a strange friend. I really don't think the lady on the right has any idea. I don't either.
The background was a page that I used to clean my stencils with a baby wipe, I then inked over it with distress oxides and did a bit of stamping with the same colours.

Hopefully, as we are in Cornwall the weather will be better than it has been at home. If I have internet there I will update you on the state of play.

Tag Tuesday - Trees

Joan has chosen the theme of trees for this fortnight on Tag Tuesday.
My tag has a distress inked background with a script stamped on top. I added an open weave fabric at the bottom with some leaf charms, and some die cut leaves in Autumn colours.

Thursday Journal with Neet

If you require me, I'll be on my pedestal are the words this week  Not sure what I was going to do with this one and went with this figure sitting on her mushroom pedestal. She also looks as if she might say something like that as well. The background is Dylusion spray inks with stencils. The figure is Dylusions and painted with watercolour brushes.
We are in Cornwall next week so I must now go and do another page for Thursday.
