Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the theme is Fur and feathers, and the colours white and purple. I have used green as my third colour. I did a white background and a purple tree and green grass. I used Dylusion birds and cats and coloured them with watercolour pens.

I am also entering this for Art Journal Journey where Yvonnes theme is World of Fantasy

Every Inchie Monday -- Canada

This week we are off to Canada, I have a first cousin in Canada, but has never been there. I'm sure I would love to visit, but can't see it happening, getting too old for all the globe trotting now.
I have sewn the Canadian emblem, the male leaf and have drawn the national animal, the beaver.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Neet's choice again this week with masks, and the colours red and gold. I didn't add another colour this time.
My background is acrylic paint with gold through a stencil. The figures are Dylusions with stamped images of masks that luckily a friend had given me.
I am just back from a workshop in South Wales, so I am a bit tired, but came back with lots of work and three lots of homework to do before November and our next session. My car will know it's own way there soon.

Tag Tuesday -- Peace

Wilma has chosen the theme of 'Peace', as her fortnight as designer on Tag Tuesday, and as it fell on 9/11, a date none of us will forget.  I decided to use the quote by Prof Robert O'Neill as the base for mine. I wrote in the conflicts that have occurred in the 20th century.

I find great peace in the sea and mountains, so I have added some  photographs of our holiday on the West coast of the Highlands of Scotland with my youngest daughter and her family. As you can see we managed to find the only place in the whole of Europe that wasn't having a heat wave. It didn't spoil our enjoying the holiday, even though it would have been better if the sun had come up there with us, and we hadn't needed our fleeces.

Every Inchie Monday -- Malta

We are off to the Mediterranean this week and to the island of Malta. The National flower of Malata is the rock centaury a small shrub with small pink flowers. The National animal is the Pharaoh dog.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week we are in Wonderland, so it just had to be Alice and the white rabbit. I really struggled with this and found it difficult to find the right figures and this was the only rabbit I had apart from some really small ones. The colours are blue and pink, and as it is wonderland there is pink grass, my other colour is blue. Not happy with this one as I have obviously used the same blue on the sky and Alice's dress. After a day in the garden I just could not be bothered to change it.
I wonder what Neet has done as she chose this theme as she loves Alice.

I am also adding this to Yvonne's theme on Art Journal Journey where the theme is A world of fantasy

Every Inchie Monday -- New Zealand

This week we are off to New Zealand, somewhere I would love to visit. For my sewn one I have used the national flower which is the Kowhai (Sophia) tree It has lovely yellow flowers, that I haven't done justice to.
The drawn one just had to be the National bird, the kiwi., and what a strange looking bird it is.
The kiwi is a unique and curious bird: it cannot fly, has loose hair-like feathers, strong legs and no tail.
New Zealanders have be called 'Kiwis', since the nickname was bestowed on them by Australian soldiers during the First World War.

Tag Tuesday -- Time /Clocks

Two more tags for Tag Tuesday, where the theme is Time/Clocks. The background is distress inks and stamping. The sayings are from Paperartsy.

Tag Tuesday -- Time.clocks

I am very late with my entry on Joan's great theme of Time/Clocks on Tag Tuesday. I have been away on a course and am trying to catch up.
My tag is distress inked with background stamping and various embellishments.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the theme is Safari, and the colours rust and green. I have used blue for my third colour, and a trip to Africa on my safari. I'm not sure who chose this theme, and as we have only two more to do in this journal I will forgive whoever chose it. It's such a small area to work on, especially with large animals involved. I really should have the ability to forget the scale of things and just get on with it.

This is the latest fabric page for Annie in our monthly page challenge. This one is in the style of Rebekah Meier. It was to be in Black, red and white and is mainly random patchwork with machine stitching on top.

Every Inchie Monday -- Croata

It's a shame there are so few of us on this site now, we are lucky if we manage 6 of us.
This week we are visiting part of the former Yugoslavia, which is now known as Croatia. The National animal is the pine marten,  one that I have had personal problems with. We used to have the marten kill our chickens when we lived in the Highlands of Scotland. Horrible vicious animals. I have drawn one, but not very well. ( Looks more like a skinny cat)
As we have just lost all our koi carp, golden Rudd and goldfish from our two ponds with otters who ate the lot. So as you can see, I'm off all predictors at the moment.
I have sewn the National tree which is the Pedunculate oak.
