Goose is the theme this week on Every inchie Monday. My stampbord one is drawn and coloured and the sewn one is all stitches. The goose is something I have never wanted to own, ducks we had but geese are so noisy. They make very good guards as they let you know immediately when someone is around, that is if you can put up with their aggressive attitude as well.

You are correct in the comment about geese making great guards- I almost got attacked one time when I went to collect wine from one of the local wineries in the south of France for my parents!

Love both of your pieces. I agree about the watch dog thing with the goose. I will do without as well!
They are rather intimidating but excellent guards, I agree. Love both your geese especially the stitched one.
Your geese are both lovely. I almost always prefer the work of your stitched inchies, mainly I think because of the texture and colouring you achieve. We had a small flock of (rescue) geese many years ago and I became very fond of them. They lived mainly in my small orchard and were brilliant at keeping possums and wallabies etc. out of the area...certainly for raising the alarm if anyone or anything was about the property (rural and remote). The rest of the family were very wary of their nipping beaks, especially my daughter but I found that picking one up and tucking it under my arm for a little chat and a cuddle stopped the hissy fit like turning off a tap, and what's more, they never tried it on with me again once we formed this acquaintance...I could never persuade the others to try, though ;)
Great inchies! I can imagine they would be good watchers with their loud honking.
Fabulous inchies Wendy and you got to do both geese, I was undecided whether to a Canadian goose or a white one but like you decided the white one was more suitable to stitching - I love the texture you got and the head proportion is wonderful with such a great textured beak and eye. Can’t beliece it was a week ago I saw you - time is just behaving like water and running through my fingertips! Love Jenny x x
