This time on The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge, there aren't many words beginning with N that I wanted to do. In the end I went for the bird Nuthatch. We used to get them feeding on the peanuts when we lived in Wales, but haven't seen any here yet. They generally feed upside down and are one of the only birds in the UK that do that.
I have kept the tag very simple and drew the tree with a black pen for the nuthatch to find some insects on.
I gave the tree very little colour, so that the bird showed up clearly. It did feel strange not to use distress inks or paint, but I like the simplicity of it.

This is wonderful Wendy. I admire your drawing skills - what a lovely N you chose to work on.
I too love the simplicity with just a little colour; love it!
Great page and a lovely bird! I love to see Nuthatches travelling down the tree trunks! xx
Such a lovely bird to chose Wendy
Love Chrissie xx
Love this one - the simplicity of the tree really makes the Nuthatch stand out!
This is a beautiful tag. Very clever drawing and a striking result.
I admire your drawing skills. I had never heard of a nuthatch before, but once I saw what one looked like, I realized what a wonderful interpretation you created. This is truly marvelous and I learned a new bird and its habits, too.
A beautiful tag, your drawing is wonderful.
xxx Hazel.
The drawing is impressive and the tag beautiful! Learned something new too...
Fabulous drawing of the tree and keeping it black & white makes the lovely little nuthatch take centre stage.
Your drawing is fantastic. I think the clean and simple look is perfect for this image. Sometimes the skill is knowing when not to over do it! xx
