I have wanted to tear strips of fabric up and make a sea picture for ages, put couldn't get the inspiration. So as I was feeling a bit down with a lousy cold, I thought why not give it a go. It can always go in the bin.
So I tore up bits of fabric, laid them on a base fabric with some sari ribbon, fancy yarns, and some special shiny fabric I had bought especially for my sea book. I then covered the whole thing with organza, and used the sewing machine to anchor it all together. I then added beads and some French knots. The foamy bit at the bottom is distressed lutradur.
As the theme on Artful Times is blue, I will enter it in that as well.

Beautiful colours Wendy and another perfect interpretation. It's so nice to see a tranquil sea as a change from all the grey angry seas on the news recently. Hope you will soon get rid of your cold and feel better.
Fabulous colours, the texture looks amazing .

Hi Wendy, This is so pretty. I have been enjoying going through the Blue Challenge and your water is perfection. We are sailors and love the water, it can be so clam and reflective and so wild and strong. Your art piece looks like deep water on a cloudy day.
I found your blog from a mutual follower and now i am following, too.
Please come over and help me celebrate my second year blogging anniversary :)
Your newest follower and blogging sister, Connie :)
That IS sea. Marina
The foam on the waves at the bottom is just perfect. Lovely to see you putting some of your blue purchases to good use and hopefully inspiration to carry on with your project.
Thanks for showing us at Artful Times.
Hugs, Neet xx
