Thursday Journal with Neet

The words this week are 'I'm allergic to stupidity - I break out in sarcasm' Enid and Beryl are identical twins, but like to dress differently now they have left childhood behind and their mum insisting they dress alike. Enid is far less prim and proper than her sister who doesn't put a step wrong. Enid has suggested to Beryl that they go on an adventure holiday for single people to some far away place that Beryl had never heard of. 

“Why would I want to do that, we are far too old to go gadavanting off to foreign places where we don’t know anyone and don’t speak the language. Have you completely lost the plot” said Beryl. 

“ I thought it was a good idea, we might meet some nice people, we might even find a male friend” said Enid.   

“ What makes you think I want a male friend at my age, I have managed very nicely without one so far, and I would rather go somewhere nice in this country. I know age is just a number, but I think you are being stupid, and I am allergic to stupidity - I break out in sarcasm” said Beryl, hoping that is the end of that conversation. In actual fact she was saving up for a new car, and didn’t want to go on holiday this year.

The saying this week is 'I miss you like an idiot misses the point' Adam had just come home on leave from a tour of duty with the RAF and could hardly wait to see his girlfriend Liz. He had been rather remiss in not writing to her or sending emails or text messages, but didn't think that would be a problem. Obviously Adam didn't know women very well as he found out as soon as he arrived at Liz's flat. "Hi Liz, great to see you" Adam said. He had hardly come through the front door and the atmosphere was not good. Having not said a word Liz turned her back on him. Adam then went from bad to worse as he next words were " I bet you missed me" Liz was really annoyed by now and the only thing she could utter was " I miss you like an idiot misses the point. Adan realised he had made a huge mistake and thought the best way was to leave and let a few days go by before trying again.

 The saying for this week is 'Did you have to eat the whole bowl of stupid'  Sophie is a very bright little girl and wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She thought it would be a good idea to get some practice in before she really made up her mind. Her brother Eric is not so bright and his number work was awful, so who better to practice on than Eric. Sophie had put measurements on the skirting board of his room and installed a blackboard on which she had written some plus and minus sums. Apart from one that was right Eric had managed to get all the others wrong. Sophia was getting very frustrated with him as he seemed unable to concentrate, too busy playing with his toy dinosaur. "Come on Eric, lets rub those out and start again" Sophie said " No" said Eric, "I want to play" "You will need to know how to do these at school Eric" "I don't care" said Eric. Sophie had had enough so before she left his room she said " Did you have to eat the whole bowl of stupid ?                                                                                                               I am linking this to Art Journal Journey where the theme set by Matilde from craftowanie  for this month is All about numbers.

 On Art Journal Journey the theme set by Aimslee is Flowers and the saying this week on Neet and my `Thursday journal is 'Not my circus, not my monkeys. My monkeys fly'  I am not actually sure what this saying is all about so found it difficult to do and to tie it in with AJJ. Angie has two little girls Dottie and Lexi and they are very naughty most of the time, a real handful. Their latest offence was to pull off all the petals from their mum's friends best rose. They had no excuse for doing it and knew they were in for a row when they got home. Their mums best friend Doreen was very angry and tried to explain to the girls that not only was it very wrong to treat anything in nature badly, but to do that her very best rose was not going to be forgiven in a hurry. The two girls didn't look very chastened but said sorry after a very stern look on their mums face. Doreen said to Angie " Not my circus, not my monkeys. My monkeys fly" Not liking her two girls being called monkeys, or saying that her control of the girls was like a circus, Angie wondered what she meant by that remark. She had totally forgotten that Doreen had a job at the zoo and was in charge of  some monkeys who seemed able to go from one tree to the next without much effort and looked like they were flying.
