Thursday Journal with Neet

For our last page on Thursday journal using Jo's theme of Nature on Art Journal Journey, our words are 'Not only does my mind wander... sometimes it walks off completely'  Ruth has been having a one sided conversation with her two cats, Smudge and Grumps, and as she isn't getting any response from them, apart from a huge frown from Grumps, her mind starts to wander. 'Should I get another cat from the rescue place to keep the two she has company and cheer Grumps up a bit. Will it really cheer him up or make him worse, it's debatable. These two are getting old so a kitten would keep them on the toes (paws) and make them more playful, or would they want to chase it out of their territory. Ruths mind then takes a long walk in another direction, how about a nice little dog, like a Dachshund. They only have short legs so it wouldn't be any bigger than the cats. It would certainly go a long way in keeping them in order, and give her some exercise as she would have to take it for a walk ( a short one ) every day, or do you have to take them for two walks a day, and in the rain and snow, but not deep snow as they only have short legs. Ruth decided to stop thinking and just stick with Smudge and Grumps and get her mind back in order.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Tim Holtz snarky comment this week is  'People think I'm shy, but I really just have no interest in talking to idiots' To tie this in with Jo's theme of Nature on Art Journal Journey, I have the set the scene outdoors in Hazels local park. Hazel is taking her dog Blake to play with his favourite tennis ball as he will have plenty of room to run around and hopefully be too tired to do anything but sleep in the afternoon while Hazel gets down to mark her classes test papers. Hazel was really hoping that she had picked a time when the park was virtually empty of people who were wanting to stop and chat and tell her how wonderful their dogs are and how their barking was annoying their silly neighbours. The list went on and Hazel  was going to do her best to avoid them, she had more important things to think about. As she managed to get Blake to bring the ball back to her she saw on the pathway in front of them coming towards them. one of the most annoying of the people she wanted to avoid, so she threw the ball as far as she could into a large clumps of trees and carefully hid behind the largest tree trunk she could find. She knew it was a bit mean, but as she explained to Blake, "people think I'm shy, but I really just have no interest in talking to idiots" Blake tilted his head to one, hadn't clue what she said and wondered why she wasn't throwing his ball.

Thursday Journal with Neet.

The words this week are 'I'm not great on advice. May I interest you in a sarcastic comment' Not an easy one to tie in with Jo's theme of Nature on Art Journal Journey, but as I keep telling Neet, it's a challenge. Fiona had suggested to her friend Amy that it would make a nice change to go for a walk in the forest instead of a local park, as her dog Dylan could do with a good run without being on a lead. Amy was quite happy with this and having been given enough notice she had taken the rash decision to dye her top green and paint her boots with shoe paint. She thought it would look just right for a walk amongst the trees. Not being very good at practical things the top had turned out really blotchy and the boots were all stripes instead of a nice smooth finish. It was now too late to do anything about it so off she went to meet up with Fiona. As soon as she saw her she knew Fiona was going to say something. After a brief hello, Fiona said "I'm not great on advice. May I interest you in a sarcastic comment ?" Amy knew it was no good saying no so she laughed and asked Fiona what the sarcastic comment was. Fiona had it all ready" I said a walk in the forest not to come disguised as one" Amy was very tempted to say that Fiona's shoes did not look like sensible attire for a walk in the forest, but she kept quiet

Thursday journal with Neet

"Been there, done that. Been there several times, because I apparently I never learn'  This is the Tim Holtz snarky comment for this week, and to tie them into Jo's theme of Nature on Art Journal Journey, I have added several cats. Jenna has just received a phone call from her cousin Inga whom she hasn't seen for months. Inga knew that Jenna had a kitten from the Cat's Protection charity and wanted to know about her experience with them. Jenna told her that they were great and very caring, and she supported them with regular contributions to help them look after and feed all the cats in their care. The only problem was with herself. "I've been there, done that. been there several times because apparently I never learn" Inga asked what she meant, and Inga then explained that she now had five cats, because she couldn't resist going one more time and then another. Sounds a bit like us, we ended up with five feral cats from them when we lived in Wales, only one left now.

Tag Tuesday - Halloween

For my theme on Tag Tuesday for the next two weeks I have chosen Halloween. I just love the lovely warm colours of Autumn and Halloween. My three tags all have distress inked backgrounds with stamped and die cut images.

Thursday Journal with Neet

The words we have this week to start our Thursday Journal with and to link to Jo's theme of Nature on Art Journal Journey are, 'Coffee has given me unrealistic expectations of productivity'  Freya has a list of jobs to do before she allows herself a shopping trip in the afternoon, and her morning usually starts off with her cat Henry winding round her legs trying to get her in the direction of his feeding bowl. This morning though she wants to feed the birds first so they get a chance of not being stalked by Henry. One of them has become very tame and Henry looks on with a mixture of jealousy and hunger. Then Henry gets fed and Freya has a cup of coffee. The ironing is the next on the list, followed by the vacuuming, the kitchen sink to clear of dishes and then to strip the bed so it gets washed while she is out. The list gets longer so Freya has another cup of coffee and then does the ironing. By this time she is too tired to do any more and says to Henry who really isn't listening "Coffee has given me unrealistic expectations of productivity. I will put the sheets in the washer though before I have another cup of coffee.
