Thursday Journal with Neet.

"I'm not getting older, I'm increasing in value"  are the words for this week, and it wasn't easy to choose the figure to go with this one. Dyan does not seem to draw older type figures, so all I did was give her grey hair.
The background is sprayed with Dylusion Inks and stencils used afterwards. I also used some leaf stamps and doodled over them and down the sides.
This is a scheduled post as I am at my daughters helping with the last of the house packing. Just her study and kitchen to do.
Home a day early.  Update, the buyers dropped out with 3 days to go for completion !!!!!.  We had packed up the kitchen, and I can't print what we all said. Karen said she can manage with the things we didn't pack so it the house is back on the market and everything is packed ready.

Try it on Tuesday Make a Mark

Try it on Tuesday has the theme of Make a Mark, and this fortnight I was asked if I would like to be guest designer.
I have used a large Dylusions journal and inked the background with Distress oxide inks. I then used various stencils and inks to make the marks. I also stamped a few simple marks and some script with black ink.
The two figures are also Dylusions, painted with watercolour pens.

Thursday Journal With Neet

This week the quote is "I didn't get to be this fabulous overnight"
I used a mop up page for this and did it in a bit of a hurry. Life seems to be throwing up a few wobbles at the moment so I am only managing to do the bare minimum.
My son is over from Russia for his Dad's funeral which was on Tuesday, so we all went over to Norfolk which is a long way from here as we have to go across country. It was a lovely ceremony and it was great to see my x brother in law and a few old friends.
As soon as Paul goes back to Russia on Friday I hope to get back to nearly normal.

Thursday journal with Neet

Why did I choose "If at first you don't succeed, give up" This was a lot more difficult than I anticipated. I really didn't know where to start, and in the end used the two small figures who were trying to fly, one managed it and the one on the left just gave up.

Off to Birmingham airport this evening to pick up my son from Russia, who has come home to go to his father's funeral on Tuesday. This last few weeks have been a bit hectic, and I will be pleased to get back to normal by the end of May.

Tag Tuesday - Sea world

Another tag for my theme on Tag Tuesday. This one has background of Distress ink and stamped seaweed. The seahorse was stamped on separate card and fussy cut. I used some texture paste at the bottom and stuck on some tiny crushed up shell.

Tag Tuesday - Sea world

Two more tags for my theme on Tag Tuesday. The top one is a deli paper background with die cut seaweed. The images are stamped separately and adhered to the background. The seahorse I covered with texture paste to give it some texture. There are broken bits of shells at the base

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week it's " I will never be over the hill, I'm too tired to climb it" I wasn't sure what figure to use for this one, so chose one with a laid back stance and looking very relaxed about life.
For the background I used Dylusion paint and a border stencil. I also used some Dylusion stamps in the background. I used watercolour pens to colour the images.
The rain has prevented me doing too much gardening, but I did manage some potting up and pricking out loads of chilli seedlings. I had saved my own seed and now wonder what to do with hundreds of seedlings. I guess I will be making lots of sweet chilli sauce this year.

Tag Tuesday - Sea World

I have chosen Sea World for my fortnights hosting on Tag Tuesday. My first one is a mermaid happily swimming with some fish. Mind you, i think she should go to slimming world not sea world.
The background for the top one is a sprayed piece of deli paper. The base of the tag is crackle paint with sone stamped seaweed.
The second one is distress inks on the background, with stamped fish, seaweed,  and die cut seaweed.

Art Journal Journey - In the sky / In the air.

The theme on Art journal Journey set by Erika is "in the sky / In the air, and for this one I homed in on the seagulls at the seaside. Although they are a nuisance and steal food they are very attractive birds. My parents lived on the coast of Devon and mum had a personal vendetta against the, as they were always in the town, and messing everywhere, and people used to feed them their fish and chips.

I have made this simple page with a mixture of inking and collage.
I am also entering this in Try it on Tuesday where the theme is Things with wings.

A painting from my online art course

This painting was inspired by a collaboration lesson between Tamara Laporte and Jane Davenport on Life Book. It represents two sisters and is in watercolours.

Art Journal Journey - In the sky/in the air.

The new theme on Art Journal Journey this month is In the sky/in the air. This theme has been set by Erika of BioArtGal.
I hope this one qualifies for the challenge. It is looking up in the sky and seeing birds sitting on the branches. I had great fun doing this.

I am also entering this on Try It on Tuesday where the theme is Things with wings.

Tag Tuesday - Faces

My last tag for Micheles theme of faces on Tag Tuesday I have really enjoyed doing these so have decided to do a whole series on the faces I have painted on my online course.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the quote is "Cancel my subscription, I don't need your issues" I sprayed the background with Dylusion inks, and then used various stencils and stamps to finish off the background. The figures are a mixture of stamps and painted with watercolour pens.
At the moment I seem to be travelling all over the country, and have two funerals to go to in the next three weeks. I have  also been bent double in the garden trying to get rid of hundreds of celandines and lamium, which has taken over a corner of the garden. It is also under a copper beech, and although I am not very tall I still have to bend over, my back is now very painful. Serves me right I never know when to stop.

Tag Tuesday - Faces

Michele has chosen the theme of faces on Tag Tuesday
My third face looks a bit odd, but the title was reach for the stars, hence the strange hair style. I really enjoyed doing this one. it was something a bit different.
