Art Journal Journey - Having Fun

It is my pleasure to be hosting Art Journal Journey this month and the theme I have chosen is 'Having Fun" Most of my pages will be of the family as they do have fun. This is the first one, and is of one of my daughter's on holiday with us in Cornwall with her two German Shepherd dogs. The male (Blake) who was a rescue dog hadn't seen the sea or a beach before and was very dubious about gets more than his paws wet. He also couldn't understand that when he dug a hole in the sand, it filled up with water. It didn't do it home when he dug the lawn up !!
My page is distress inked, and stamped with some of my seaside stamps, with a map and images of the dogs added.

Thursday Journal With Neet

This week the quote is "Gym update, not there" That's me, never ever been to one, and I think at my age it's too late to start, anyway I don't have time. This is a scheduled post as I am away for two days on my textile course. It's the last one of year 1, so we will then be at the design stage in year 2-- Gulp

My page is distress inked and stencil and stamps used to make the background. I don't like the blue bits, but they are hard to get rid of, so I gave up. I suppose I could have put gesso on top, but even that soaks up the colour.
The figure I used looks as if she is walking swiftly away from the direction of the gym.

Art journal Journey - Hello Springtime 3

Another page for Jo's theme of Hello Springtime on Art Journal Journey
Another collage page with stamped birds, and using scraps from my ever growing scrap box. I haven't used some of my bird stamps for ages, so it's great to give them an airing.
I am also entering this in the Artistic Stampers challenge which is "Colour it green"

On Art Journal Journey  Jo has chosen Hello Springtime for her theme. This time I have used collage as my background and then stampings and images of birds and nests. Bit happier with this one.

Some more photos from my garden this month

Art Journal Journey - Hello Springtime

Jo ( Let's art journal) has chosen' Hello Springtime' for her theme on Art Journal Journey, and I am very late entering my pages.
My first one has a distress inked background and some stamping of snowdrops, bluebells and grasses. They are two of my favourite flowers, along with primroses. This year the primroses in my garden seem to be having a really good year, there are loads of them and look very cheerful and Spring like.
I have added one of Tim Holtz figures to help fill the gap. Not very happy with this one.

Some pictures of the Spring flowers in my garden

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the quote is " I wish I was as thin as my patience"  I have used distress inks on a mop up page and then sprayed some inks on top. I used a Dylusions stencil of leaves and two Dylusion figures . I hardly ever use these two, so decided to give them an airing. Two girls having a chat.
I have vertigo at the moment, I'm on pills, so hope it goes away soon. I need to get out in the garden as I have several days away coming up.
My concentration is not good and I am tired all the time. Too much to do and so little time to do it in. I really should learn not to take so much on.

Tag Tuesday - Hares and rabbits

The theme set by Wilma on Tag Tuesday is Hares and rabbits.
I have very few stamps for either of these, and my favourite one has to be Herbert hare a stampotique one. I have used this on a distress inked background.

More textile homework

This time I have made another leaf print piece with the print made by using soy wax. A fascinating process if not a bit smelly with the hot soy wax. The borders are made with bits of blot off papers and overdyed with Procyon dyes.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Neet's choice this week, " Thou shalt not whine" I wasn't sure what to do with this one, so decided to go for a play on the word whine. The background is a mop up page , sprayed with Dylusion inks with ink through a border stencil. The figures are made up of different parts of different stamps.
This is a scheduled post as I am away at one of my daughters, helping her pack for a forthcoming move.

Tag Tuesday My favourite stamp.

For this fortnight on Tag Tuesday Joan has chosen 'My favourite stamp' As I have many favourite stamps I wasn't sure where to start. For this one I have used one of my favourite French script background stamp on a distress inked background. I then stamped some steampunk ones on separate card. I added a clock to finish off.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week my choice of " If you promise to go away, I promise to stop ignoring you" The background is distress inked with a few sprays of Dylusion ink through a stencil. The figures and background stamp are all Dylusions.
The weather is awful, so the garden has been deserted until it dries up a bit. I am catching up on my homework for the textile course and hopefully some on-line work at the weekend as Peter its away.
