Every Inchie Monday -- Belgium

This week we are still in Europe and Belgium. I have sewn the national flower which is very suitable for this time of year as it's the common red poppy (100 years after the end of WW1)
I have drawn the national bird, the kestrel.

Tag Tuesday -- Edgar Alan Poe

Another tag for Micheles theme of Edgar Alan Poe on Tag Tuesday The border at the base is a die cut, and the rest images from my stash.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Our last page for this journal, and we have ended up where we started a year ago with a Halloween type theme. This time Neet has chosen The Dark Side, with black and orange as the colours.
I was a bit stumped with this one and went for a grungy background and made up a weird figure.
My black paint is on it's last legs, so the stencil work is really grungy.

Tag Tuesday -- Edgar Alan Poe

Another great seasonal theme from Michele on Tag Tuesday, Edgar Alan Poe. I really enjoy doing Halloween, and have quite a few images of Edgar Alan Poe. The background is Distress inked and the saying stamped. I have added a die cut bird and bottles, and a skeleton charm.

Every Inchie Monday -- Italy

This week we are off to Italy, a country I love to visit. For the National flower I have sewn a lily, the symbol of purity and refined beauty. Yellow lilies for joy, orange for passion and white for chastity. For the national animal I have drawn the grey wolf, known as the Appennine wolf, living in the Appennine mountains and in Switzerland and France.

Journal Page with Neet

This is the penultimate journal page in this format, and will then start to use a larger journal for our new challenges. This week the theme is feathers and the colours orange and purple. I did a plain orange background with purple leaves and a purple nest made out of old paper strips. The two parent birds are Dylusions and the baby a Paperartsy Zinki mini. ( I just couldn't resist it)
I will be in Cornwall this week, so this post is scheduled.

I am also entering this in  Art JournalJourney where Linda's theme is creature comforts.

Every Inchie Monday -- Argentina

This week we are in South America and Argentina. I had a short trip to Argentina when I went to visit my youngest daughter who was doing her gap year in Chile. Going over the Andes was one of the things on my bucket list, it is a fabulous range of mountains.
For the sewn one I have made the national flower which is the Coral tree, Erthrina cristina galli
For the drawn one it is the national bird the Rufus Hornera, the red oven bird. Not a good drawing as it's tail isn't long enough or the bird red enough. As I am away at the moment I had to do these in a hurry.

Fabric page for Annie

This last month we tackled the techniques of Angie Hughes, who just happens to be the nearest tutor
to where I live, just 20 mins away.
This page has a lot of burning, soluble plastic leaves, and foil work and is great fun to do. I machine and hand sewed the stitching. It represents the decay on trees and the forest floor.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the theme is circles and the colours yellow and brown. I used Dylusion paints and a stencil for the circles. How the idea came for the rest of it I do not know. At least one of the dresses and the fungi have circles on as well.
I am struggling to get everything done before we go to Cornwall on Saturday. The weather there doesn't look very good for next week and that means for the second time this year we are going to get yucky weather for our holidays.

Tag Tuesday --Bunting or flags

On Tag Tuesday the theme has been chosen by Sandie, and it's bunting or flags. For this one I have chosen a seaside scene with beach huts and some bunting.
I Painted the background with Paperartsy Fresco paints and added some toy stuffing for some fluffy clouds. I stamped the beach huts on a separate  piece of card and coloured them with watercolour pens.. I added some texture pastes for the foam on the edge of the sea and some tissue paper, and beads in the sea. The seagulls are die cuts.

Tag Tuesday -- Autumn/Halloween

Another tag for Valerie's theme of Autumn/Halloween on Tag Tuesday. Again a distress ink background with stampings and die cuts.

Every Inchie Monday -- Spain

This week we are in Spain. I thought this one would be easy, but my first attempt at drawing the national bird was somewhat off target. The first one looked like an emanciated parrot, and the second attempt like a strange breed of pigeon. I eventually managed to draw the Imperial eagle. For the sewn one I have made the bull their national animal, in two different leathers.

Fabric pages for my new book of trees.

I have been on some Angie Hughes workshops and love how textured all these pieces are. There's lots of melting back and stitching and I have added beads to some of them. These two represent decaying bark and various elements of the forest floor.

Tag Tuesday -- Autumn/Halloween

Another tag for Valeries theme on Tag Tuesday, I love doing Halloween tags. I used Distress inks on the background and spayed it with water. I stamped the skeleton and words,  and the raven on a separate piece of card. I made some shrink plastic pumpkins for the top/

Thursday Journal with Neet

I had already done this post and now I am writing it again, where it went I do not know.
Neets choice this week with flowers and the colours grey and pink. As much as I love flowers I find them difficult to work with, especially in paper crafts.
I painted the background in grey and stencilled on top with pink and my third colour, orange.
I used Dylusion figures and some paper and fabric flowers.
