Every Inchie Monday -- Cockerel

This week cockerel is all set to make us think on ways to get a cockerel on an inch. Once again I have use shrink plastic for the stampbord and a stitched one for the sewn one. I just used loads of straight stitches, and hopefully it looks a bit like a cockerel.

Go Tag Thursday -- Turquoise and brown

One of my favourite colour combinations is turquoise and brown, and this is the theme on Go tag Thursday this week.
I have used a piece of corrugated card for the base of the tag and painted it with brown acrylic paint. I then coloured some texture paste with turquoise paint and used a couple of stencils on the tag and on some brown card. I stamped two Crafty Individuals bird images and added them to the tag. I finished off with a wooden bird some flowers and some bits of broken jewellery

I am also entering this on Try it on Tuesday, where the theme is Get Messy

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week we had to include some fish. The page was painted  already, so it was a bit restricting. I added some die cut seaweed and stamped the fish on separate card. Having already done a few fishy pages, the only thing I could come up with is Lulu going fishing for supper. I wonder what Neet has done. We are now out of our original list of subjects and need to think up some more, I still have a few pages left in this journal.

Go Tag Thursday -- Wheels & cogs

Here is another tag for Go Tag Thursday This time I have used a lot of recycled things. The tag is made from packaging and the bottom piece is the backing from one of Tim Holtz stencils which I have used texture paste on. The two stamped images are from stamps that I have had for ages. The engine and cycle charms I have also had for ever and never liked to use. I am trying to use my stash up now as I have far too much. The cogs are relatively new.

I am also entering this on http://sandee-and-amelie.blogspot.co.uk/2017/02/new-stashforgotten-stash-part-two.html

Tag Tuesday -- Spring flowers

The theme for this fortnightly challenge on Tag Tuesday has been chosen by Valerie, and is Spring flowers. I think we all love to see the first sign of Spring and one of my favourites are the snowdrops.
My tag is on watercolour paper with stamped images. I am also very fond of bluebells, so both have featured on my tag. I have added some paper and silk flowers for some dimension.

Every Inchie Monday -- Horse

My stampbord one is shrink plastic and the sewn one is soft leather with hand stitching. The sewn one has some wadding to make it slightly 3D.

Fabric book

I had a super collection of gelli printed fabric residing in a box that I had made last year, so I decided to make them into a book. I went with the theme of trees and leaves again, just can't resist them. Below are a few of the pages, the others haven't scanned very well and are too dark.

Go Tag Thursday -- Wheels/cogs

The new theme on Go Tag Thursday is wheels and cogs, sort of steampunk and time rolled into one.
I distress inked the background and stamped the steam engine. I added a cog die cut or two and some metal ones.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week we had to include a heart. I went back to the sixties and The Beatles. The page was already inked, so I stamped a lot of Dyan's ladies and they became the Fan Club. Neet has also used a song for her page as well

Fabric postcard

This is another fabric postcard for the swap I am doing with my friend. The subject this time was hearts. The background was made with lots of bits of fabric and thread and overlaid with organza. I then did some machine embroidery on top and then added the hand made felt hearts and the twinchie.

Every Inchie Monday -- Cow

This week the animal is cow. On the stampbord I have drawn a Highland cow, and the sewn one is like a Hereford cow. So one from where I used to live and one from where I live now.

Art Journal Journey -- 50 shades of red

Another journal page for Art Journal Journey from a journal I started and haven't finished from years ago. It is in a different style from my normal ones, and one I will probably do more of. It is on watercolour paper, and includes some paper scraps and poppies. As soon as red is mentioned, poppies come to mind, so a few appeared on this spread. The whole page has a Zetti type style to it.

Go Tag Thursday -- Paris/Romance

Paris is such a romantic city that the new theme on Go Tag Thursday Paris/Romance made life fairly easy. I have quite a bit of Paris ephemera and enjoyed making the tag. I use some corrugated card for the base and ripped some of the first layer away. I embossed the base with some turquoise embossing powder. I added some papers and two small tags. The lace and eiffel tower finished it off.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week we had to include a cat. As a lot of my pages already had a cat on I had to think hard as to what to do. This is what I came up with. The page was already coloured and I think it suits the theme.  I painted the tree with Delusion paints.
I love the expressions on the cats faces. Just in case you can't make out what it says it is "No way am I going down there & nor me"

Tag Tuesday -- Bookworm

We have started a new form of Tag Tuesday, which is now an open challenge blog. Hopefully more people will join in. There will be a new theme every fortnight instead of every week, these to be set by the Design Team. This week Chrissie has chosen bookworm.
I have made three tiny books and added those with a few pictures of stacked books. The bookworm is made from felt.

Art Journal Journey

The theme this month on Art Journal Journey chosen by Linda is -- 50 shades of red.
My first thought was poppies, I love them and I also love the poem written by Dr  John  Macrae during the first World War.

Every Inchie Monday -- Pig

This weeks animal is pig. The sewn one is felt and is slightly 3D For the stampbord one, I drew a pig on shrink plastic and then used the heat gun to shrink it to size, It looks as if it has been grubbing about in the mud for a while.

Go Tag Thursday -- Anything goes

As it was Anything goes on Go Tag Thursday I have made another sewing one to go in my sewing book (the one I haven't put together yet) I'll put it on the list, along with all the other things I'm going do this year. Please don't hold your breath.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week we have to include a tree, stamped drawn or a family tree. I went for a Dylusion family tree, using the names Dyan gave them where possible. There aren't many male stamps so they have a separate tree all to themselves. I enjoyed doing this, it made a change from trying to find quotes to suit the images. Sorry the full spread t the top is so dark, the light is awful today.  The scanned ones are spot on for colour.

Portrait

I was supposed to do a self portrait on one of my on-line art classes, but the more I messed about with it, the more it took on buckets full of artistic licence. I find it difficult to draw faces in the first place, but getting skin tone and eyes the same size is for me, nigh on impossible. Here is my attempt, the drawing first and then the painting. I didn't put all the wrinkles in, that's some of the artistic licence. I did put some of the grey hair in though.
