Tag Tuesday -- Christmas stockings

This was not easy, as I didn't know how to attempt it. In the end I cut out and painted a stocking shape. and cut out some things to put in my stocking. I then covered the stocking with some acetate.

Every Inchie Monday -- Question

I just couldn't get my brain around this one and did the simplest one I could think of. I am away for a week and have scheduled this post. When these inches go up on the blog you can see how awful your writing is.

Go Tag Thursday -- Sport

Not a stamp in sight for this subject on Go Tag Thursday. so I had to resort to two vintage photographs and a picture of various balls. I did manage to find a tennis racket charm.

The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge -- I in my dictionary

My entry of the Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge in my old dictionary is I for insect.
I seem to have quite a few stamps for insects so off I stamped.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week we had to include an envelope. My choice this time and when I looked at a blank page I did wonder why I suggested this one. I had already made the two orange flaps at the side, so decided to stick the envelope to the one on the left. I decorated the envelope and then did the other surfaces. As you open the envelope it opens the left flap, you can see the backdrop. The envelope has another envelope inside.

The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge -- I

For the letter I in the Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge I have made an Indian tag. It's a mixture of stamped and printed images, with a couple of Indian postage stamps. There are also some gems and a piece of Indian ribbon.

Tag Tuesday -- Farms, fields, patchwork landscape.

I decided to paint this one as I didn't have time to sew one, which I did intend to do. Where does the time go ? Not very happy with it, done in a rush.

Try it on Tuesday -- Trees are green or any other colour.

A quick last minute entry for the Trees are green  theme on Try It on Tuesday. It's the cover on one of my journals. The background is a gelli plate on Khadi paper with a mixture of real leaves and two cut out ones.

Every Inchie Monday -- Lighting

Not an easy one to portray on an inch and my sewn laser lights, although sewn with very bright metallic threads doesn't show up very well. The stampbord one is taken from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the robot and ? are standing on something that looks like a landing strip with lighting on the edge. These are small gems.

Go Tag Thursday -- Texture

On Go Tag Thursday the theme is Texture. I love lots of texture and started my tag with some corrugated card and ripped some of the top layer away. I stuck on several textured bits and used a stencil with texture paste for more texture. I gessoed the whole tag and then painted it with Fresco paints. I finished off with a few die cut seahorses.

The Craft Barn Two Weekly Challenge -- Poppy

The Craft Barn Fortnightly challenge is "Poppy" As I can never resist poppies I have made a couple of quick cards before I go off for a crafty weekend. The restriction was it was monochrome with a dash of red. The stamp is from Sheena Douglas. If I had the time I could have made loads of cards, as I collect poppy stamps.

Art Journal Journey -- Collage with no faces, leaves or wings.

When I first started this page for Art Journal Journey, I had a lovely selection of trees, a real leaf etc, then my brain took over and I put them all away. This is the version I ended up with, totally different from the one I started out with.
I love time and steampunk themes, so might end up doing a steampunk one later on. Most of the things here were in my scrap box, so all they needed was a colour makeover.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week we had to include a butterfly, and as you can see I couldn't stick to one. I stamped loads of butterflies and coloured them with my Staedtler fineliners. These are really great for filling in very small spaces, and the colours are very clear.
I used an already inked page with a flower stencil as a background. I stamped some Tim Holtz flowers and coloured them. I gave one of Dyan's ladies some butterfly wings, and the rest was a glue down job. The light is so bad today that the top scan is very dark.

Art Journal Journey -- Collage with no faces, leaves or wings.

Another page for Art Journal Journey with the theme of collage with no leaves, faces or wings.
I started this with the basic collage in blues, then I lost the way, stuck on some orange circles as a contrast, then lost the plot completely. Went to the kitchen did some cooking, came down after dinner looked at it and thought sea. So that's what I did, did a bit of die cutting a lot of glueing and that was it finished.

Tag Tuesday -- Reindeer/stags

It must be getting near Christmas as this weeks Tag Tuesday is Reindeer/Stags. I have used a die cut for the deer and trees and used puff paint for the snow on the trees. The background is distress ink sprayed with white Dylusion ink. The tree in the front is on foam pads to make it more 3 D
I am also putting this on Try It On Tuesday where the theme is Trees are free- or any other colour.

Every Inchie Monday -- Wormhole

I made my inches last week as I have been away until this morning helping my daughter in her aquatic marine shop. When I went onto the inchie blog I couldn't understand why Trillian had an apple with a hole in it. I then had a quick look at Chrissie's and then looked at my list. Yup you guessed it, I'd made the wrong ones, not just wrong, but not even on the list. I was obviously on my own agenda, and am now considering going to evening classes to learn to read.
Here are my proper inches. I gather the Sci-fi folks think these strange things in the galaxy will give them time travel. Well I'm not going in one so I can't let you know if it works.

Go Tag Thursday -- Home/House/Houses

This weeks theme on Go Tag Thursday is Home, house or houses. I decided to go for Houses and distressed a tag ready for the stamped images of three houses. I coloured them with Derwent Intense crayons and stamped some trees to go behind the houses.

Thursday Journal with Neet.

This week the theme is a word or two.
Neet chose this topic, and I started on it last week, the only thing was I thought it meant put lots of words on. After an email from Neet I finished the one I'd started and will use it for something else. I then had to put my thinking cap on and decided that I would actually use the words ONE and TWO
So I have gone with the saying A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I used an already inked page and stamped the birds on separate card. I die cut the leaves and cut out a hand. I used the shapes left out from cutting the leaves and letters as a stencil. I then did some stamping to the background and then glued everything in place.

Art Journal Journey -- Collage - But no leaves, wings or faces.

For this page on Art journal Journey,  I inked the background and then stamped a large background with black ink. I then added scraps of paper and some resist canvas. I used two die cuts of the Eiffel tower one on top of the other (White and black ) and the word dream. I stamped various images and words, and finished off with two cogs and some lace.

Birthday card

I don't normally put my birthday cards on my blog, but the one I made for Peter ( OH) is quite appropriate for a challenge blog I found from one of the comments on my blog. We have five cats who all adopted us. The black one Abby was obviously dumped in the valley we lived in and she just walked in one day and made herself at home. At the same time a local feral cat had five kittens and she left two females in our polytunnel ( Haze and Dee)  After a while their brother turned up and stayed ( Leo)
The fifth cat was dumped on our doorstep as a tiny not weened kitten ( Tigger) probably by the same mother as there is a definite likeness to his brother.
They all moved house with us two years ago, and are more than happy in their new home.
The card shows all five of them, and for those who know them, they would recognise them in the Tim Holtz stamps.
They all love cooked chicken, and we suspect one of them fished out one of our new Koi Carp.

Tag Tuesday -- Mushrooms and Toadstools

I have made two tags this week, as I have quite a few stamps. I also have made some tiny clay ones as well. The distress inked tags have been embossed with a grassy border and the mushrooms stamped on separate card for the first one, and directly onto the card for the second one.

The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge U in dictionary

My version of U in my dictionary for the Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge is Umbel. I love the stamps for this and find them useful for all sorts of projects.

Every Inchie Monday -- Clouds

I found the sewing one quite difficult so made two, as I wasn't sure about either of them. They are both felted.
The stampbord one I painted, and for the clouds I used puff paint.

Go Tag Thursday -- Birds

Here is another bird tag for Go Tag Thursday. This time an owl sitting in a weeping willow tree. The background is distress ink and the owl coloured with Derwent Intense crayons. The little owls at the top are buttons.

The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge -- U

The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge this time is U.  Lots of words in the dictionary, but not many that you can portray on paper. When I reached ultrasound I remembered my youngest daughter sending me an email that said " No 3 !!!!" So that is what I did, an ultrasound scan of my third grandchild, a girl to keep her two brothers in order.
I have also included a picture of her taken in Scotland in August. Eleanor will be three in December.

Go Tag Thursday -- Birds

I love birds, but always manage to find them difficult to work with. For this tag on Go Tag Thursday, I distress inked the tag and stamped some feathers as a background. I then stamped the two images on to separate card coloured them and adhered them to the tag. I added wooden charm to finish it off.

Art Journal Journey -- Collage

This month on AJJ the subject has been chosen by Susi. It's Collage but with no Faces, Leaves or Wings. Sounds easy until you actually start working on it. I am especially drawn to leaves and I found myself searching through my stamps and dies with very little success. In the end I used tissue paper,  lightweight hand made papers and scrappy bits from my scrap box. I ripped them into bits and stuck them down in a scene. I used a stamp for the little girls which was the only one I had without faces. The bushy type bits in the foreground are bits of scrunched up bits of kitchen paper used to mop up ink.

I am also entering this in Try it on Tuesday -- Hand-made by you.
http://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/hand-made-by-you-is-new-tiots-theme.html

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week we had to include paper or stamped lace. I have to admit this one was my idea and when it came to doing it I was a bit stuck for ideas. I didn't want to do a pure sewing page as that one is for later on in our list. This is what I came up with.

Try it on Tuesday -- Hand made by you

For the Challenge on Try it on Tuesday I have made a fabric postcard  that I made for a friend. We are doing one a month with a set theme each time . This one was birds. The background is made from lots of scraps of fabric with a layer of organza on top, and then stitched with machine embroidery stitches. The bird is made from fabric paper, and the leaves from fabric.

Tag Tuesday -- Foxes

Well this caught me without a fox stamp, how can I not have a fox stamp in my vast collection. !!!!! I therefore had to resort to pictures, although I did use stamps on my background. Not very pleased with it, but will try better next time.
