The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge -- R

For this challenge I have chosen 'rust' for my word on my tag. I started with a cog embossing folder and coloured it with distress inks. I then rusted up some die cut tags with distress powder. The rusty buckle, chain and screw were adhered at the end with some accent beads to simulate a bit more of a rusty texture. The whole tag weighs a ton. Please excuse the terrible photo, as I had to take it under artificial lights, and have managed a shadow at the bottom.

Rust never looked so good! I love all the great rusty textures here, I can imagine the weight of this tag. You thought of a lot of fun rusty details creating this tag. Well done.

Love your rust, very realistic. As it happens I have been working on my own rusty pieces and mine don't look anywhere as good! Great tag!

Wendy, I'm in a swap right now and my theme is rust. Your entry really piqued my interest and I enlarged the tag to get a much better look at how you actually made it look so rusty without actually "rusting" it. That chain especially is incredible, but the buildup of "rust" you got on that buckle was perfection!!!

You stated something about seeing my rocking horses. If you would like to see a small sampling of my rocking horses, you can visit a post I created on Friday:
