I started this when a friend came to stay, and really enjoyed the process. First of all, I layered several different types of ripped white fabric and using the machine sewed near the edges of the fabric. We used different thicknesses and types of fabric to give texture. Other pieces were then added to it like pieces of lace flowers. All of this is still in white. Some extra stitching on the top for the grass gave some more texture. This was achieved by using a thickish thread in the bobbin and sewing from the back. I then painted it with fabric paint. The daisies were sewn by hand with some very small pieces of organza for the buttercups. We took our inspiration from Wendy Dolan's book Layer, paint and stitch.

What an amazing idea Wendy and it has much texture now. Beautiful colours and flowers as well
Love Chrissie xxb
This looks stunning Wendy, it must have taken you many hours work to create this embroidery.

This is so delicate and pretty. A lovely simple but very effective composition. I love it.
