Easter bonnet is the theme on Tag Tuesday this week. Not my favourite theme I have to admit. I searched through my images and came up with the three hat advertisements and the vintage lady with her flowery hat. As I couldn't make up my mind which ones to use I made two. Both tags started off with distress inks and the pink one I sprayed with purple through a stencil. I added old book paper to one and stamped the other with a script stamp. The images were then added, plus some flowers and butterflies.

Sewing tag
I made this sewing tag for a swap where the theme was handicrafts. As I have so many sewing stamps, I just had to use vintage sewing as my theme. I distress inked the background and stamped the main image and sewing room in a dark brown. I wound some thread onto a card spool and finished off with buttons, safety pin, tape and a small scissor brad.

Gleam and glitter embroidery
I went to a workshop with Sheila Davies at Celyn Textiles a few weekends ago and made this embroidery. For those who know me it is in my favourite colour, turquoise. I am going on another workshop next Saturday, and I am NOT going to use turquoise, I am running out of wall space to put them.
This one has a felt base, and then using wire, lace and paint with machine stitching for the textured embroidery. Nearly finished it in a day, which is unusual for me. I did do a bit more at home, machine embroidery and beads to finish it off. I mounted it on a painted canvas.

Artful Times DT piece & A Vintage Journey-- In the style of Tim Holtz
For this piece, I used two reed diffuser boxes that had a drawer type construction. I glued them together and covered the box with some Tim Holtz paper. For the front of the drawers, I used two Fresco paints and crackle glaze, and then added two of Tim's fancy drawer plates with a bead in the middle to open the drawers with.
I used a stencil with texture paste on two sides to give some texture and then added cogs and some stamped sayings of paperartsy's. I painted some die cuts of butterflies ( Tim's) and then covered them with rock candy crackle glaze ( Ranger)

Every Inchie Monday -- Lasso
We have been without the phone and the internet for four days, heck what did we do before computers. Lasso is the word this week on Every Inchie Monday. They both have the same theme, a cowboy with a lasso. Now I look at it, the stampbord one looks like a cowgirl.

Tag Tuesday -- Spring is in the air
Spring is in the air is the prompt for this week on Tag Tuesday. A quick one this week as we are dashing around like demented idiots. There are definite signs of Spring here, and I love the Spring flowers. One of my favourites is the snowdrop, so I chose to put some on my tag. The background is sprayed ink, and then stamped with my snowdrop stamp and coloured. I then added a saying and some small die cuts.

Every Inchie Monday -- Nail
Nail is the word this week on Every Inchie Monday, not an easy one to do in stitch. For the stampbord one I have drawn a fingernail and put some nail art on. I did this with some acrylic inks and some small gems. I don't think it would stand up to me gardening with such decoration on though. For the sewn one, I have used a wood image fabric and made a nail from some soldering wire. I did a few silver French knots for nail heads in the wood.

Artful Times DT piece -- Tag with pocket
For my piece on Artful Times my 'tag with pocket' has me wishing I was on the beach somewhere hot.
I have made a large tag and folded the bottom up to form the pocket. It is coloured with distress inks and sprayed with a white mica spray to make it shine. I made the seahorse Tim Holtz style by colouring it with distress ink and adding clear crackle paint rock candy. I die cut some seaweed and coloured them with distress inks. I added some small 3D dew drops over some stamped bubbles.
For the sandy pocket, I stamped some shells, added a piece of corrugated card from another project and die cut a starfish to go on the edge.
The tiny book in the pocket has a cover of fabric paper, and paper pages stamped with seaside images.

Tag Tuesday -- Frame it
On Tag Tuesday the theme is Frame it. I found this friendly plastic frame in my haven't used for years stash and framed the image on a distress inked background. I added a couple of grunge board flourishes that I painted gold to match the frame, and some flowers. Because the frame is quite thick the image looks a bit blurred.

Every inchie Monday -- Egyptian
On Every Inchie Monday Egyptian is the word. For the stampbord one. I painted the background black and embossed the hieroglyphics in gold. I then added a shrink plastic Tut mask.
For the sewn one, after many attempts with fabric that kept fraying I made a pyramid with the reverse side of some leatherette, which was the nearest colour I could find to stone. Not a very exciting sewn one this time.

Tim Holtz style tag for March 2015
This is my take for the Tim Holtz March tag. I didn't have his stamps or embossing folder, but had ones near enough. I used my own choice of colours with the distress paints as I will not be buying anymore I do not like the dabber type paints, as they tend to dry out on the spongey bit and the paint doesn't come out. Apart from that I have tonnes of acrylic paint to use up. I must buy some more metal cogs, I seem to be running out.

Every Inchie Monday -- Love
Two quick simple ones on Every Inchie Monday today. The theme is Love, so I just made a felt heart for the sewn one, with some gold stitching, a gold bead and a red rose. For the stampbord one I did a shrink plastic heart, and wrote the word love in the corners.
