A Vintage journey -- Say it with words

I am very late doing this challenge, and am only just getting it in on time.
My daughter gave me this book box at the weekend, and instead of putting it away with all the others, I actually started working on it. As its 'say it with words' on A Vintage Journey, I decided to make it into a sewing themed one, to put my fabric postcards in.
I started by painting it with Fresco paint in black, then crackle glaze, then a blue. After it had crackled I sprayed it with some perfect pearl mists, and a lime green Dylusions one..
Then came the fun bit, putting all the clock, cogs and flowers on. I covered Tim's sewing dress form with some of his vintage paper, and added that, with a home made button. The saying is one of my favourites from Paperartsy.

Ooh, I love that - great colours, and the gears and flowers work really well together. Fabulous crackle too! Thanks for joining us on A Vintage Journey.

Hi Wendy, this is so gorgeous! Thanks so much for your comment on my blog. That netted stuff you inquired about on my beach tag is actually an old lace curtain I tore up and was playing with--I've made a whole bunch of random "strips" with it and I find it kind of cool because it can look shabby chic like a lace bow or it can become more like netting with some brown/gold ink or paint sponged on top of it. So needless to say, you can't buy it lol. But I would be happy to mail you some if you want to try it or just keep it on hand for something in the future or if you don't like it, you can toss it because it was free anyway :) Email me with your snail mail if interested and I'll shoot it to you! Hugs, Linsey (linseyp2@msn.com)
