Bag made from old shirts

On a week away with some friends we made a bag with cut up bits from shirts from a charity shop. I am now after Peters shirts so I can make a bigger one. It was great fun using button or buttonhole bands for handles, and pockets for the outside. I used a wide cuff to make a pocket inside the bag. There are various other bits sewn on the outside,  The squares that formed the basis of the bag we embroidered with the sewing machine.

I love this bag. No man's shirts will be safe after this!

Wow I love your recycled bag! Did your hubby really throw out those beautiful shirts? I only used to get thread bare and faded from mine! lol
