Art quilts
I am in an art quilt swap, and as this was my first attempt at art quilts, I have gone overload and made several. There are several more in the making. The green one was the first one, so I try to keep my first attempts. The turquoise one is for Jean in the swap, and the orange one for a friends birthday which was yesterday
I made them on pelmet vilene, with the backgrounds made from baby wipes, not used on a baby, but to clean my ink pads. The other bits are made from various pieces of fabric paper that I had great fun making. My workroom has under floor heating, so the fabric paper dries very quickly spread out all over the floor.

wow!!! these are fantastic!!!
I nearly missed this post Wendy. I love your art quilts - they are great. It always surprises me how a similar design in a different colour scheme takes on a different character - they are all lovely.
Your art quilts are fab Wendy! The colour of the middle one is fantastic!! It's funny, only today have I been looking around the net for small quilting projects to try - I haven't really found anything manageable yet though. Your quilts are inspirational!
Wendy, these are absolutely gorgeous!!
I saw these in the flesh and they look even better IRL.
I'm also so pleased to say that I am the recipient of the orange art quilt.
Thank you Wendy. I think I told you several times that I love it. :o)
These quilts are gorgeous - I love them all! But I think the turquoise one is my fave. I keep hearing about his fabric paper, but am trying to resist getting sidetracked into yet another technique to try...
