Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the two colours chosen by Neet are chocolate brown and ochre, and I have chosen a pale yellow as my third colour. I used the yellow ochre on the background with leaves from a stencil with the brown and pale yellow. The word is foliage.

Every Inchie Monday -- Zimbabwe

Gosh, and I thought last weeks was difficult. Apart from Mugabe and the flag I was a bit stuck, so went for the national flower which is Lily Gloriosa Superba and part of the flag made from narrow ribbon, a bit of the map in backstitch and the initials ZI Neither of these was easy to do on an inch.

Tag Tuesday -- Have a heart

This fortnight on Tag Tuesday our host is Sandie and her theme is Have a heart.
I have made a size 12 tag with a photograph of my Mum's eldest sisters wedding. Mum is the youngest bridesmaid on the left. I distress inked the background and tore up an old ledger and book page and adhered them to the tag. I added several hearts and a charm.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Net's choice this week with vibrant turquoise and lime and tear drops for the word. I have used a darker green for my third colour. At first I thought it said rain drops so I was all set to do that. When I read it properly I had to change direction and put brain in gear.

Every Inchie Monday -- Vietnam

This week, not such an easy one, it's Vietnam. Having been around during the Vietnam war and the boat people leaving the country in their thousands, it's hard to think of anything else. It's a beautiful country and one I would like to visit. I can't see that happening, but one can dream.
For the sewn one I have attempted to layer some felt to look like the terraced rice fields, and for the card one a very small painting of the huge towers of rocks and the typical boats that sail in the waters.
All this very difficult on one inch.

Life Book Week three

This was a lesson from Ivy Newport entitled two hands one heart.
I struggled with this one, as we were to use part of a photo of our face, preferably the eyes and then paint the rest over a collaged background.I managed the collage and then messed up the face. I ended up painting over my eyes as well, and it doesn't look anything like me.  It's a face, so that's progress as far as I am concerned.
