Tag Tuesday -- Spring Flowers

It's my turn this fortnight and I have chosen Spring Flowers, I always feel that as soon as I see the snowdrops it is the start of new growth and Spring. They were my grandmothers favourite flowers and I am trying to get as many as possible in my garden.
The next cheerful flower is the daffodil. I have painted some of them for the second tag, and used a stamp for the first one.
What is your favourite Spring flower, I look forward to seeing what it is.

Fabric page with Annie

This month we are using the style of Beryl Taylor. We went on a course of hers a few years ago, and enjoyed the way she worked.

Every Inchie Monday -- Turkey

This week we are visiting Turkey. I have never been there, but one of my daughters did a few years ago and they loved it. I found this one very difficult and a bit of a challenge. There doesn't seem to be a National bird which is always a good option for me
Istanbul is the only city in the world spanning two continents so I have chosen to sew one of the well known buildings there with a background of part of the flag.
I have drawn the grey wolf (Canis Lupus) which is the National animal.

Life Book 2018

This time we did an angled face, my first I think. I was pleased with the drawing, before I painted it. I wish I had a tube of flesh coloured paint. The theme was A heart full of happy, where we wrote the things we are grateful for on the heart..

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the two colours are London Blue and bubblegum pink, I have added light grey as my third colour. The theme is dots and dashes which made me think of semaphor and shorthand. I used a dots and dashes stencils with the two colours onto a grey background.

Every Inchie Monday -- Cuba

This week we are visiting Cuba, a beautiful island I have been told. When I think of Cuba, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, The Bay of Pigs, The Cuban missile crisis, and cigars all come to mind.
For the sewn one I coloured the flag and rolled up some fabric for the cigar, with a thin strip of gold tape around it.. The drawn one is their national bird, the Trougon

Tag Tuesday -- Use a quote

This fortnight on Tag Tuesday Michele has chosen Use a quote for our theme.
I have made a time theme one. The background is distress inked and embossed. I used one of Tim Holtz clock die cuts and figures added. Some cogs and the quote finished it off.

Thursday Journal with Neet

The two colours this week are pink and cerise and my third colour is bubblegum pink shimmer. The word is flowers.
I didn't find this vey easy and it was a last minute one as I had been away at my daughters, and then to a friend near where I used to live to help her sort out her workroom before she moves.
I used a flower stencil on the background, which I think was a mistake.

Every Inchie Monday -- Romania

Gosh, Google didn't give many workable images for this one, so I went with a flag and the paw print of their national animal, the lynx. For the sewn one I did the national flower, the dog rose. We have them growing in our hedge, and very prickly they are as well. In a bit of a rush with this as I am away for a few days.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the two colours chosen by Neet are chocolate brown and ochre, and I have chosen a pale yellow as my third colour. I used the yellow ochre on the background with leaves from a stencil with the brown and pale yellow. The word is foliage.

Every Inchie Monday -- Zimbabwe

Gosh, and I thought last weeks was difficult. Apart from Mugabe and the flag I was a bit stuck, so went for the national flower which is Lily Gloriosa Superba and part of the flag made from narrow ribbon, a bit of the map in backstitch and the initials ZI Neither of these was easy to do on an inch.

Tag Tuesday -- Have a heart

This fortnight on Tag Tuesday our host is Sandie and her theme is Have a heart.
I have made a size 12 tag with a photograph of my Mum's eldest sisters wedding. Mum is the youngest bridesmaid on the left. I distress inked the background and tore up an old ledger and book page and adhered them to the tag. I added several hearts and a charm.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Net's choice this week with vibrant turquoise and lime and tear drops for the word. I have used a darker green for my third colour. At first I thought it said rain drops so I was all set to do that. When I read it properly I had to change direction and put brain in gear.
