Thursday Journal with Neet

This is my second Anything goes page, and I have four pages left to do after this, unless  I tip in a few extras, as I have fewer left than Neet. We are on the Isle of Skye at the moment and if I have time I will add more to this post as I will have to schedule it for this week.
We have had rain in the mornings, but so far good afternoons. We are on an arty sort of holiday, and going round lots of the numerous art galleries. Some fabulous paintings and pottery, but all English folks so far, mostly women as well.
When I lived in the Highlands I had to go to Inverness for my textile fix. Most of them were Scottish, so maybe it's the Isles that attracts the English artisans.
Had a walk on a fabulous beach yesterday, although I am suffering with a very painful right leg. I do of course have a bag full of shells, driftwood and a scull I can't itentify.

Every Inchie Monday -- Jellyfish

Still at the seaside with the jellyfish this time. Not one of my favourite creatures. I was stung by a Portuguese man of war when I was 14 and my right arm was paralysed for hours. My family thought I was making a real fuss, until another family told us that a little boy had been stung and rushed to hospital. There was a whole raft of them along the Welsh coast on the Thaine peninsula. Never did like going in the sea much !!
The sewn one is on felt and the stampbord one badly drawn.

Woodland fabric book

Another two pages for my woodland book. The top one is made using scraps of fabric, lace and felt. I have attempted to embroider some bluebells at the base of the tree. The tree is sari silk and felt.

This one is using scarps of gelli prints and two lutradur leaves, and stitched across to quilt it.

Go Tag Thursday -- Clocks or watches

On Go Tag Thursday the theme is Clocks or watches. A theme I always enjoy doing. My tag has background paper as well as ink and stampings. I added some cogs and a watch with a cracked texture on the face. I made this in a hurry as we are off to Scotland in the morning.

Thursday Journal with Neet

As we are both nearly out of pages and both of us going away at various times we have settled on Anything goes for the rest of this journal. Sometimes I find the more difficult than a subject, but as we are using Dylusion figures for this it makes it a bit easier. Again I have used my cut pages that were already painted and inked and then replaced in different parts of the journal, hence the double page not matching. Note to self -- I will not be doing this again. I will be away for the next week, so the next one will be scheduled.

Art Journal Journey -- Poetry In motion.

A second one for Jo's challenge on Art Journal Journey, this time I have used canvas as my backing. It is painted with acrylic paints.

Tag Tuesday -- Back to school

This time on Tag Tuesday it is Michele's turn to host and she has chosen 'back to school'
I used Distress oxides on the background and texture paste through a stencil for the letters. The images came from my stash and I made a pseudo chalk board and clipped it on the top.

Go Tag Thursday -- Balloons

Balloons are the subject on Go Tag Thursday and I only possess one air balloon stamp. I did find a couple of all papers that had some balloons on, so ripped bits off them to help make the background a bit more balloon like. I then stamped the balloon and an inventor type gentleman and added him as well. A few cogs and a compass finished it off.

Art Journal Journey -- Poetry in motion.

I am really late entering this challenge on Art Journal Journey which has been set by Jo from Let's art journal. This one from me is from one of my small Dylusion art journals.

Every Inchie Monday -- Seagull

On Every Inchie Monday we are off to the seaside for the next two weeks and the first one is the seagull. More often seen eating fish and chips at seaside resorts than fishing at sea. The sewn one is the second attempt as thee thin legs kept falling off the first one. The stampbord one is shrink plastic.
We are off to the Isle of Skye on Friday for a week, so have made the next ones in advance. I will schedule them and hope I can get them onto the Inchie site.

Thursday Journal with Neet

Today we are back in the UK, and have landed in London. Their outfits are a bit over the top, but it did use up a wooden moustache I had had for a while. The two pages are one ones previously cut with a wavy edge and coloured on a course with Dyan. These are proving to be a bit of a nuisance to use up. The two pages are bit disconnected, but I ran out of inspiration on this one.

Fabric Woodland Book

Another two pages for my Woodland book. The first one is all hand embroidery and the second one embroidery on a gelli print using a leaf stencil.
My book is nearly complete. just two pages to go.

Every Inchie Monday -- Frog

In a bit of a hurry this week as I am still catching up on not doing anything last week, while my friend was here.
Frog is the subject on Every Inchie Monday and I have drawn a poison dart frog on the stampbord and sewn a green tree frog on tyvek, with a felted background. Not the easiest thing to draw or sew, and I think I could have done better if I had taken more time on it.

Tag Tuesday -- Use your scraps

On Tag Tuesday the theme is Use your scraps. chosen by Valerie. On and around my desk was the following: piece of sequin waste, clay and friendly plastic embellishments, some odd bits of yarn, and a broken air dry clay edging.
I made the tag from a scrap piece of cardboard and use some texture paste through some stencils. I painted it with acrylic paint.

I am also entering this on Go Tag Thursday where the theme is Anything goes.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This time I am off to Italy again with two people on holiday. This time I have used two of my cut pages that were already painted. I have blanked out the side bits that showed other bits of pages. I shall have to start a new journal soon. This will be short as I have a friend here, and we are sewing.

Every Inchie Monday -- Crocodile.

Horrible dangerous crocodiles are the subject this week on Every Inchie Monday. If you run fast enough, you can outrun them, but I am not ever going to try to put it to the test.
My stampbord is shrink plastic. The sewn one is made from a very fine leather which looke like a very fine crocodile skin ( how lucky was that) The felted background is a bit too dark I think.

Go tag Thursday -- The letter S

On Go Tag Thursday this week we are doing any theme that starts with the letter S. I have gone for an sea theme and have included Shells, seahorses, seaweed, and the sea of course.

Thursday Journal with Neet -- Greek or Roman

This page started out with a white background with blue and orange spots and circles on. I had no idea what to do with it, and as I am running out of pages, I decided to paint it brown, not a good idea, not only do I not like brown very much but it didn't cover the spots and circles very well. The next not so bright idea was to paint it with white gesso, that came out all streaky and was worse than the brown. I was going to forget the whole thing, and stick the two pages together and find another one. In the end I had some lunch and a brain wave, and used a stencil that looked a bit like mosaics and used Dylusions white paint. That sorted the first layer out, and I could then put my brain in gear and decide what to put on it. I went the Roman way, and finished it by midnight.
