Go Tag Thursday -- Vintage

The theme this week on Go Tag Thursday is Vintage. Always a favourite with me, I was spoilt for choice. I decided to get a stamp out that I haven't used for a while, and which looks a little bit like my late mum. I used Distress stains on the background, and added vintage lace, and flowers and buttons.

Thursday Journal with Neet.

This week the theme is Nature. As this covers so many things it made it difficult to narrow it down. I have used a double page that was already painted, and a Dylusions figure. The stamps for the cat, leaves, mushrooms and flowers are also Dylusions.
I wonder what Neet has done for this one.

I am also entering this on Art Journal Journey where the theme is Out and about, and Try it on Tuesdays, which is Botanical

Tag Tuesday -- Birds/nests

Another bird shaped tag for the theme on Tag Tuesday. These bird shapes have been hanging around in my studio for ages, and as I chose the theme for this fortnight it was an ideal opportunity to get them done.

I am also entering this on Simon Monday challenge which is Things with wings.

Every Inchie Monday -- Peacock

It's another bird this week on Every Inchie Monday. The colourful exotic peacock. I love the colours of their feathers, and trying to get the look of it on an inch is not easy. I have used shrink plastic for the stampbord, and beads and threads for the sewn one.

Go Tag Thursday -- Nautical

The theme this week on Go Tag Thursday is nautical. I love sea theme art and hope to make a another one if I have time. The base of this one is corrugated card with a size 8 tag on top. I painted the background with acrylic paint, added a lighthouse from a napkin, and some fabric rocks. I used puff paint for the sea spray, clay shells and star fish. My two scanners are playing silly beggars so I have used the scanner on my iPad, the light wasn't very good either.

Thursday journal with Neet

I don't know how Neet has interpreted this one, as the theme is strips. I think it's supposed to be strips rather than stripes. Isn't our language odd !!
I have made a very simple one this week as my imagination had gone AWOL.
I decided to cut up strips of paper and make a carry cage for the dogs. No way was I going to do all the cage, so you will have to use your imagination for the missing sides.
My scanner hasn't caught the right side as it's near the end of the journal and won't lie flat

Susi suggested I add this to Art Journal Journey, which is hosted by Yvonne and is "Out and About". I suppose it sort of fits as the dogs are definitely going somewhere.

Tag Tuesday -- Birds and nests

I am very pleased to be hosting our forth challenge on Tag Tuesday. I have chosen birds and nests, as this is the time of year when the birds will be gathering the nesting materials and building their nests. I love birds and am an avid bird watcher.
I have made three tags to give you some inspiration, two conventional ones with paper backgrounds, texture paste and stamped images. The nest for the first one is made from cut strips from and old book, both have real feathers on them. The third one is bird shaped and will join others to make a bird tag book.

Every Inchie Monday -- Woodpecker

It's another bird this week on Every Inchie Monday, it's the turn for the woodpecker. I have featured the greater spotted woodpecker as that is the one we see here on the peanut feeder. The stampbord is shrink plastic.

On line art painting

This is another painting from one of my on line art  lessons. This one involved an image transfer of a portrait of ourselves which we then painted over and altered as we wished. I did try me with long hair, but it looked awful. We then added collages pieces around the head and painted over those as well. Other images were of a personal choice, plush any wording we wanted to use to portray our hope and intentions.
I might try another one of these and do long hair and make the whole thing a bit more whimsical. Please don't hold your breath though.

Thursday Journal with Neet

This week the theme is circles, which sounded quite easy to start with. It didn't take me long before I knew it wasn't easy at all. I already had a page with some circles on and in hind sight it would have made life easier if the page had started off circle less. It will be interesting to see what Neet has done with this one. I have written some saying around some of the circles:
Circles create soothing places
When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles scream and shout.
In measuring a circle one begins anywhere.
Some people have a large circle of friends, while others have only friends they like.
Life comes full circle.
A circle is a round straight line with a hole in the middle.
A circle is the longest distance to the same point.
Nature knows no calendar, the seasons move in circles.

Art Journal Journey -- Out and about

For this theme on Art Journal Journey, I have made a double page in my travel journal of our trip to St Ives last September. We went down to see a friends textile exhibition, and really enjoyed our short break in Cornwall. It had been ten years since our last visit.

Go Tag Thursday -- Men/Boys

This is my second tag for Go Tag Thursday's theme of men/boys. Boys this time using two of my favourite stamps on an embossed and distress inked background.

Every Inchie Monday -- Heron

Oh boy, these are getting difficult. I used shrink plastic for the stampbord one and just did the head catching a fish for the sewn one. Then my two scanners didn't work, so have spent an hour showing hubby how to use my iMac, nearly drove me to drink. ( I'm allergic to alcohol so that would have been a bit drastic)

Tag Tuesday -- Hat and headgear

I wasn't sure I would like this theme on Tag Tuesday,  but my head is now full of ideas. Here is my second one, which is very similar to the first. I hope to do another one, but slightly more outlandish than this one. I'll end up with having to make a book of them at this rate.

Go tag Thursday -- Men/Boys

The theme this week  on Go Tag Thursday is Men /Boys. For this one I have used a distress inked background and a large background stamp. I added a stamped image, cogs, a pocket watch and key.

Thursday Journal with Neet on Friday

We managed to get in a right muddle with the new list, as we both had a different one for this week. Needless to say I have now done next weeks as well. So we are running a bit late with this one which is steampunk. I do quite a lot of steampunk, but found this one difficult, my fault as I chose this subject. The background was already done, so I didn't have to do a new one. The only stamp of Dyan's is the head and the clock, the rest are from my steampunk collection. Not everyones taste I know, and I wouldn't have dreamt of doing anything like this a few years ago.

Tag Tuesday -- Hats and headgear.

On Tag Tuesday  hats and headgear is the theme for the next two weeks, chosen by Michele.
I have been very conventional for my tags and have used images of ladies in hats. I might, given the time and imagination do something different next week. The background for this one was made using doilies which were then painted.

Go Tag Thursday -- Butterflies

This week on Go Tag Thursday the theme is butterflies. This is always a great subject to do and I enjoyed making these when I came home from my daughters yesterday. For this one  I used some texture paste for the right side and along the base. I stamped some butterflies into this. I then sprayed the tag with Dylusion inks. I use a die cut in the left hand corner.  I added some metal branches, and some wooden butterfly buttons.

Fabric postcard -- Poppies

This is the postcard from last months swap with my friend. It was my choice as I love poppies. It is all felted apart from some beads.

Every Inchie Monday -- Duck

This week it's the duck's turn to be put on an inch. I have drawn the one on the stampbord , and the white fluffy one is felted onto a felted background.

Thursday Journal page with Neet

This week we are going for anything goes as we have yet to compile a new list to fill up the rest of our journals. My page was already painted and I decided to go for something out of my usual comfort zone. I don't find pink easy to work with, and men looking like that don't do anything for me either. I wonder what Neet has done. I find it quite difficult to work without a theme, so new list here I come.
I am also entering this on Art Journal Journey where the theme is Out and About, chosen by Yvonne.
