The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge -- G

For this challenge I have chosen G for Gentleman. I distress inked the background and stamped a script background in dark brown. I stamped all the other images and adhered them to the tag. I added a chain and a pen nib to finish off.

Tag Tuesday -- Spring

The background is distress inked and the very bottom of the tag is embossed with a grass embossing folder. I embossed the nest heart with copper embossing powder, and placed it on a collection of die cut leaves. I stamped and cut out the tiny bird boxes.

Every Inchie Monday -- Peanuts

I wasn't sure what to do this week, but decided on drawing and sewing peanuts. In the book they are an essential, so I went with that, instead of the cartoon character.

Wanderlust abstract painting

This year I have joined Wanderlust, a year long internet art class. They have 24 teachers showing us different techniques and the last one was to let yourself go as far as the painting was concerned.
You put a choice of acrylic paint on your palette and just splodge it on without any preconceived ideas of what you were doing. I chose the blue and green colours to start with and then added some red for contrast. I am quite pleased with the result. My OH has called it the underground. The canvas measures 24" x 18"

Tag Tuesday -- Eggs

Eggs is the word on Tag Tuesday, and I have made an egg full of eggs sitting in a nest. The background is distress inks and I made a nest out of torn dictionary pages. The large egg is a die cut, and the small ones stamped and embossed.

Every Inchie Monday -- Door

Two simple ones this week. The mountbord one has a shrink plastic door, and the sewn one fabric door on a stone fabric background. The door does open on the fabric one, and has a bead for the door knob.

Tag Tuesday -- Heroes/Heroines

The only picture I have that fitted the theme this week is a picture of Florence Nightingale, so she is my heroine. I framed her in a die cut on a distress inked background and added some grungeboard flourishes and a flower. Without the ability to use my printers at the moment I had very little choice. My daughter is coming here tomorrow to rescue me and get my Adobe photoshop working again.

The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge -- R

For this challenge I have chosen 'rust' for my word on my tag. I started with a cog embossing folder and coloured it with distress inks. I then rusted up some die cut tags with distress powder. The rusty buckle, chain and screw were adhered at the end with some accent beads to simulate a bit more of a rusty texture. The whole tag weighs a ton. Please excuse the terrible photo, as I had to take it under artificial lights, and have managed a shadow at the bottom.

Every Inchie Monday -- Island

I still haven't managed to connect my scanners, so once again I had to photograph the inchies, and then try to get them off my phone and into the right place. Forget the phone, that didn't work either. After what seemed like hours, I managed to air drop the pictures in from my iPad,  but couldn't size them and get rid of all the grey.
The sewn one one is very muddled and looks a bit of a pig's ear, but after all the problems it will have to do.

Tag Tuesday -- Blue and Green

I have a new computer and it is not talking to my scanners. I am not very good on computers and it has taken me ages to get these photos on here. So I have been all round the gas works several times until I hit on the idea of taking the photos on my iPad and then onto here. This is all very well if you know where to find them. Then you have to find the right file which wasn't where I thought it would be. If my daughter who set it all up for me reads this, I'm in big trouble.

I coloured both tags with distress inks ,and put the top one through the Sizzix with a TH die. I then added some leafy die cuts and some flowers. I enjoyed making the tag, but not getting it on here. I wonder if I should go on a computer course !!!!!

Every Inchie Monday -- Spaceship

Having failed to draw a proper spaceship, I went to the internet and Googled the galaxy one and then I was home and dry.

Tag Tuesday -- Curls and swirls

For the background, I used galatos shading from purple to yellow, and watered them down to blend them together. I cut out some swirls from some card previously embossed with script, and adhered them to the tag. I added flowers and curled wire at the bottom to finish off.
