Try it on Tuesday Guest designer piece. Animals, wild or pets.

Avril on TIOT has kindly asked me to be guest designer for this challenge and this is what I made. I love elephants, and decided to make a wall hanging. I started off with some corrugated card, distressed it a bit and painted it with Fresco paints. I stamped some elephants and cut them out. I stamped  Indian images on the background, and stuck the elephants on top.
The panel was then stuck onto some card, to which I adhered some elephant and Indian ribbon ( Braid ) to, I hung some elephant charms to the bottom, and some lace and a metal embellishment to the top. Some sari ribbon to hang it with and I was finished.

Every Inchie Monday -- Throne

I have been away on a course, and am therefore a bit late with this challenge. Having made them, I then couldn't get on the internet to put them on my blog. Throne was the word for this weeks Every Inchie Monday, and I have made my usual two, one sewn with red velvet, and the other drawn. Working with such a small piece of velvet was not easy, as it frays a lot. I took the easy option this time, and went for the obvious.

Artful Times DT piece -- Arches

On Artful Times the subject is arches. I have started an arch book on my family, and this one is of my Great Grandma, my Nanwith a friend, and my mum with my oldest cousin on her left. No one knew who the little girl was, and all of those generations have now passed away.
The background of the arch is collaged and inked. I added some vintage lace at the bottom, and some flowers and buttons.

Every inchie Monday -- Salmon

On Every Inchie Monday Salmon is the next word. With limited time, the salmon fish came out tops. I painted a rocky river and the shrink plastic salmon is leaping up the river to spawn. The sewn one is a salmon coloured salmon, as my silver fabric is in the new house 40 miles away. The sewn one looks a bit moth eaten and fat, now it's been scanned. Could be it's the one with the eggs,  waiting for Mr salmon to get up that river.

Tag Tuesday -- Stencils

A bit late this week as my craft room is now looking like a fill in tip for the council. Most of it is packed into boxes, or residing somewhere in the dining room. I did manage to find some texture paste, and used that through one of my most used stencils. I then painted it with gold acrylic paint. What to do then gave me another problem, but I eventually found the images and worked on a wedding theme.
 If I had the will power and the time I would get the next months done in advance, as we move on the 17th of October.

Every Inchie Monday -- Schedule

On Every Inchie Monday, the word is schedule, not an easy one to put it mildly. I did not enjoy this one, especially as I am between craft rooms, and everything is always in the wrong place. Not my best. The sewn one looks like a spider on drugs has walked all over it, It is supposed to be a list of Every Inchie Monday words, which  tick off as I do them. The card one has a shrink plastic ticket on the train time table. It will be interesting to see what the others did for this one.

Artful times DT piece. -- Tiny book

For my DT piece on Artful Times I have made a tiny felt covered book 3" x 2  3/4"  If the Tower of London can put on such a fabulous display to remember the fallen during the First World War, I can try to do my own tiny piece.
I have felted the cover, and embroidered (badly) the words on the back cover. The pages are paper and I have stamped different poppies on each page, plus a few lines of some poems. I have shown just a few of the pages.

Tag Tuesday -- Fairy Tales

For my fairy tale on Tag Tuesday, I have chosen Red Riding Hood. Not happy with it, but it was the best of several attempts. I guess with two thirds of my art stuff in the new house I am struggling a bit. I inked the background through a stencil, then placed the die cut trees on top. red riding hood was printed off the internet.

Every Inchie Monday -- Red

On Every Inchie Monday this week, the word red gives us bags of scope. I have used shrink plastic for two UK icons, the post box and telephone kiosk. For the others I have felted a red poppy, one of my favourite flowers, and painted one as well in a red sunset.

Tag Tuesday -- Silhouettes

On Tag Tuesday this week the word is silhouettes. I have made two, a female and male one. For both tags I inked the background with distress inks and used some stencils on them. I then embossed the frame around them, and inked the high bits with a darker colour. The silhouettes are die cuts.

Every Inchie Monday --Renaissance.

Although this weeks word on Every Inchie Monday gives us a lot of choice, they are not easy to portray on an inch square. The renaissance period was during the 14th-16th centuries, when there was a revival in the arts, and the fashions of that period were very distinctive.
I have gone for good ol' Mona Lisa, and shrank her. I was very surprised how small the painting was, when we went to see it in the Louvre.  The sewing one is a very feeble attempt at Elizabeth the 1st with her ruffled type necklines. Not easy on an inch. I hope these fit the period.

Fabric book with Beryl Taylor

I was lucky enough to go on a course with Beryl Taylor a while ago, and have now managed to finish the book.
We coloured our fabrics with the use of Gelli plates, stencils and Indian printing blocks. We then embroidered them, made various embellishments to put on, and dyed different fabrics to use. I had quite a lot to do when I came home, but am pleased with the results.
