Tag Tuesday - Silhouettes

Sandie has taken over from Michele whose theme this is, she went on holiday and forgot about it. Sounds like me at the moment. Silhouettes is the theme on Tag Tuesday and I have made two very quick ones. I don't know where the time goes. We are putting our house on the market next month and I am frantically trying to tidy a neglected garden and sort my very large studio out. There is no way I will get one as large as this and will probably end up in a spare bedroom. So I am throwing stuff out and filling up the local charity shops.

Thursday Journal with Neet.

The words this week are "Wrinkled was not one of the things I wanted to be when I grew up" Grace was looking after her Granddaughter Millie who was convinced that when she grew up she would work at a zoo. Millie was obsessed with animals and had spent all morning trying to get her Grandmas cat to obey commands. It was of course a waste of time, Leo was too set in his ways and didn't take kindly to being told what to do. Millie explained to Grace that she was set on working with animals when she grew up, so Grace said that perhaps being a vet would be a better idea. Millie listened quietly but the insisted that as vets here didn't deal with big cats so the zoo was was her dream job. " What did you want to be when you grew up Grandma?" asked Millie. " Thinking back to the dreams she had had as a young woman Grace said "Wrinkled was not one of the things I wanted to be when I grew up, but I did have a very satisfying job as a school teacher. She hoped Millie would change her mind and not work with big cats  or anything else dangerous.

Thursday Journal with Neet

The words this week are 'When I ask for directions, please do not mention words like "East" this saying is very appropriate for me as when I ask for directions, the points of the compass are sometimes placed strategically in the answer. It doesn't help when you don't actually know which direction you are pointing in in the first place. Jessica has managed to get lost in the estates around her town and has no idea how to get out of it, or how to find the actual house she is looking for. She doesn't have satellite navigation in her car, and is not that good at reading maps, it's probably out of date anyway, as this is a huge new estate. As she drives slowly along a quiet road she sees a lady talking to her two cats in the garden. She stops, and  says how cute the cats are, even though she doesn't actually like cats.  The cat lady is flattered that someone has actually said they like Ginger and Henry as her neighbours hate them as they are bird lovers, and the two cats are often seen stalking the birds and getting shooed away. After a chat about her furry friends she asked if Jessica wanted some help as she looked rather lost. "Yes I am lost, but when I ask for directions, please do not use words like "East" Jessica was actually on the wrong side of the estate and the cat lady, sensing that loads of turn rights and lefts was not going to help went to fetch a pencil and paper and drew Jessica a simple map. Jessica was very grateful and after saying thank you and giving the cats a quick stroke she drove away feeling very confident.

'So when is this old enough to know better supposed to kick in ? are the snarky words for this week. Grace  is having a cup of tea, and her daughter Annie is feeling somewhat rebellious as her mum won't let her go out with her girl friends on a night out in town. I'm sorry Annie, but I will not feel happy with you in town with girls I don't know, they are much older than you, so you will have to wait until you are old enough' That's not fair Mum, you know how sensible I am" "Really said Grace, no-one would believe it as you seem to have a tea cosy on your head !" It wasn’t a tea cosy, it was a hat Annie had knitted herself and her mums remark didn’t help Annie feel any better about not being able to go out with her friends. In a rather angry voice and before she really lost her temper Annie said “ So when is this old enough to know better supposed go kick in ?” “ Obviously not yet” was all Annie heard as she flounced out of the room.              I am linking this to Elle theme of Book, cats, tea on Art Journal Journey

Thursday Journal with Neet

I am on holiday in Wales this week, and luckily I had taken a few animal stampings with me so I am able to enter this with Elle’s new theme.  The saying this week is 'From a procrastination standpoint, today has been wildly successful' Astrid  has a load of jobs to do that would need an A3 size piece of paper to list them on. It's the weekend and she really doesn't know where to start. At the top would be sensible, but sensible was not how she felt today. Right at the bottom of the list was to empty the cats litter tray, and let them out for a play in the garden. Anita has had to keep them in the house since the new neighbours have an awful cat who attacked both her cats Henry and Abigail. As they would only go out with her it meant that Astrid had to stop reading her book and go out in the garden with them. Astrid knew if she did that she would see a load of weeds that needed pulling up. One job seems to lead to another and at the moment Astrid couldn’t be bothered doing anything. By late afternoon the cats were giving her their really fed up looks and Astrid said to them “ well you two, from a procrastination standpoint today has been wildly successful”
