Go Tag Thursday -- Wings

The theme this week on Go Tag Thursday is wings. I decided to use some of my unused dragonfly stamps. The background was made using distress inks and some mica ink sprays. I stamped the dragonflies on separate card and paper and adhered them to the tag. I added a silver charm and a 3D dragonfly. Unfortunately the body of the dragonfly hasn't  scanned very well as it is very dark.

Third Challenge with Neet. -- Use a shape stencil.

Our third challenge was to use a stencil. As we use them most of the time to make our backgrounds we had to use a shape one rather than an allover type.  I know what I mean !! I have used a heart shape for this one. I doodled on the background one and put faces in the heart shape.
The first background was painted and stencils used on top of the paint. I then used the heart shape and painted around them with the brown paint, covering up the original colours apart from behind the heart mask. Neet has used a key shape for hers.

For this one I used the leaf shapes, and doodled around them.

Tag Tuesday -- Coffee and tea

The theme this week on Tag Tuesday is Coffee and tea. I distress inked the background in as near a coffee colour as I could find. I then stamped some words for different types of coffee. I then added an empty tea bag, an image from a napkin of a cup of tea or coffee, a stamp of Tea Time and a wooden teapot.

Every Inchie Monday -- Underground

It was so tempting to either draw part of the map of the UK underground or use the symbol. Instead I decided to make life difficult for myself. For the stampbord one I have drawn the underground nest of a mouse. For the sewn one an underground river in a cave.

Go Tag Thursday -- Steampunk

This is the other steampunk tag I made for Go Tag Thursday. The background has an embossed and distress inked finish. The cogs on the left are a die cut and I have used shrink plastic with three Paperartsy stamps, the two flowers ones are set in die cut cogs. I finished off with some metal cogs and a clock charm with a dragonfly.

Go Tag Thursday -- Steampunk

I have just come across a newish tag challenge site called Go Tag Thursday and this time it is steampunk. I don't need much of an excuse to do tags, time or steampunk so made two while I was at it. The second one I will put on in another post later on.
This one has a cog embossed background with stamped images added on separate card. I used crackle glaze on the clock face, finished it off with some metal cogs.

I'll never be a well behaved woman -- Journal page. Words, words and more words.

Here is the next journal page for my challenge with Neet. This time we had to put lots of words on our page. My words sort of indicate that being well behave could be a bit boring.

The Craft Barn Dictionary challenge -- N

I have found a spare dictionary, so couldn't resist the temptation to do another N page for The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge. This time I have chosen Nest. I stamped the images and coloured them with intense crayons, the feather is a die cut. The pages are very thin, so it will need some careful handling, I might have to glue several together.

Tag Tuesday -- Cups and cutlery

Not a lot to find in my stash on this subject this week. Luckily I had a napkin with cutlery on and a die cut of a cup and spoon. As that was the sum total, I used all of them to make the tag. I covered the cups with a 3D glaze to make them shiny and cut the spoon out of some metal tape on grunge board.

Every Inchie Monday -- Spiral

Now was this an easy one, or have I not thought it out enough !!!! The sewn one is on a background of hand felting and the stampbord one has three different spirals made from shrink plastic, including a snail that although it eats your plants has a lovely spiral shell.

The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge -- N

This time on The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge, there aren't many words beginning with N that I wanted to do. In the end I went for the bird Nuthatch. We used to get them feeding on the peanuts when we lived in Wales, but haven't seen any here yet. They generally feed upside down and are one of the only birds in the UK that do that.
I have kept the tag very simple and drew the tree with a black pen for the nuthatch to find some insects on.
I gave the tree very little colour, so that the bird showed up clearly. It did feel strange not to use distress inks or paint, but I like the simplicity of it.

Journal page challenge with Neet

My friend Neet and I decided we needed to challenge ourselves and do more in the journal we started  last year. It's a large size which neither of us are very happy with. The small ones are so much easier to work in and come up with ideas for.
We have made a list of subjects to work from, and will go through them in order each week. Well until we run out of pages that is. Then we might do the same with the smaller ones.
This week was to include some stars, so having set off putting stars in a dark blue sky, I was then stuck. So it's not quite night time, the rest I'll leave for your imagination. No doubt a certain cat has been put out for the night and is creeping away.

Tag Tuesday -- Down the street

I used one of my unused stamps for this tag. I coloured the houses with Derwent intense crayons with a little help from my fine Staedtler pens. I stamped some trees behind the houses and gave them some gardens and paths.

Every Inchie Monday -- Rain

Not an easy one to do this week, and I struggled a bit on the sewing one. Eventually I felted a cloud and used a fine white thread for the rain. For the stampbord one I painted the umbrella and sky and then stretched away the paint to simulate the rain.

Tag Tuesday -- At the seaside

A great theme this week on Tag Tuesday as I love doing things to do with the sea as some of you will know, having seen my fabric book of the sea.
I started with a distress inked tag and stamped various images onto separate card. I coloured them with Derwent intense crayons. The seagulls were stamped directly onto the tag. I added some real shells at the bottom.

Every Inchie Monday -- Computer

The word on Every Inchie Monday is Computer, not much room for something different, but no doubt one of the ladies will come up with something unusual.
For the stampbord one I drew a laptop , and then drew a proper mouse onto shrink plastic and duly shrank it.
For the sewn one I have used the Apple symbol and given it a virus, well a caterpillar to be exact.

The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge -- W

The next letter in The Craft Barn Challenge is W.
I have chosen woodpecker for this letter. I used texture paste for the tree trunk to give it some texture. I then painted the tree and background with acrylic paint. I stamped the woodpecker and coloured in the red bits.
I added some feathers that a woodpecker kindly left in my garden.
