Beer mat book---Vintage children

This book is made out of 4 beer mats, for the GAS MAMMA swap. The front is fabric, with an image transfer and bits of lace and buttons added. The inside pages are collage and stamping. I enjoyed doing this, and feel a visit to the pub is called for, as I have run out of beer mats.

Texture ATC

I haven't been very active on here recently, too busy flying around the country, entertaining my Mum, and trying not to let the weather get me down. We did think of building a boat, as we have had so much rain, but Peter gets sea sick, so thought better of it. The weeds have taken over the garden, and the trees are gradually encroaching, and taking on jungle like qualities. I have made a few things, but not very often, a typical Summer lack of inspiration and time.

This is an ATC that I made for the MAMMA swap. It was to make one in your favourite thing. I was torn between birds, and texture, as you can see, texture won. The background is tissue paper, and texture paste, and the heart is made out of Fimo

Cover for Nature book

This is the cover for the nature book that Maureen, Jan, and myself have done. There are 18 pages all together, covering birds, trees, butterflies, fungi, and flowers.
My cover is made from pelmet vilene, painted and textured with texture paste, and then embroidered with silks. The flower is a crochet piece that I made 100's of years ago. All I have to do now is bind it all together.

Chunky houses

Another batch of chunky houses for a swap I'm in. I really enjoy doing these, as I like working on different shapes. Some of them are textured, the others collaged.

Alphabet journal Letter S

The second letter I've tackled for the alphabet journal is S. To me this means Summer holidays at the seaside at Chapel Point in Lincolnshire. We used to meet up with the same friends every year, build huge sand boats, and sit on them until the sea washed them away. Cricket on the beach, collecting shells, paddling, (I never did learn to swim). They are happy memories of childhood.

Alphabet journal pages Letter N

I have joined a group doing an alphabet journal. We are doing them in a random order, and N was the first letter. I am using a hot press smooth watercolour paper, and making signatures to sew together at the end. I had already started doing one last year, so can add those at the end of the journal.
I painted the backgrounds with Brusho paints, and added pictures, some stamping, and then did some journaling at the end.
It has taken me ages to get started, but having done so, I feel a lot more confident about it.
