Thursday journal

The words this week are  'They say it takes a village. It also takes a vineyard, I believe'
This time I have inked the background with two pink distress oxides and then used the same colours through a stencil on top. The figures are coloured with coloured pencils.

Sheena and her friend Bronwen are having a pre Christmas drink before they tackle the Christmas shopping. They both live in a really nice village and shopping means a trip into the nearest city. Sheena thought her friend meant a cup of tea or coffee, but Bronwen had different ideas.

"Bronwen, I really don't want an alcoholic drink before we go shopping and what have you done with your proper Christmas tree" asked Sheena.

"Well, I just can't be bothered with one this year, so I just stuck that picture of one on the wall" Bronwen answered.

"You are just being lazy, come on before you open that bottle let's get out of the village and head for the Christmas lights in town" said Sheena.

"OK sobersides, let's go. You know they say it takes a village. It also takes a vineyard, I believe" replied Bronwen.

"That doesn't make me want an alcoholic drink if that was your reason for that comment" replied Sheena.

Hey Wendy! I love your creative artwork and clever story! Your interpretation of this week’s quote is wonderful. Your art journal page background is stunning! I also like, the beautiful Christmas tree (LOL - I can’t believe she just put up a photo of a tree!), and especially Sheena and Brownan’s stylish outfits!! Thank you so much for sharing this with AJJ this month! Sending hugs and wishes for a happy holiday season!!! Sharon

What a great story! I laughed so hard when my friend said that. She was right!
And it's a fantastic journal page, too.
Have a good advent time! hugs Elke

That's so sad the a glass of wine is more important than a Christmas tree. Although there are holiday days when a glass of wine is really important...I like how you made the story work not only for the quote, but also for that fun page you made. Thanks for sharing this at AJJ for Sharon's challenge. And if you don't post next week with the holiday, have a Happy Christmas Wendy. hugs-Erika

Just me again. Thanks for letting me know about Neet. It's a shame she is still the hospital and that her legs are still swollen. I'm glad to read at least her husband can spend the holiday with her. Thanks for letting me know. And once again-happy holidays to you. If you happen to hear from or see Neet, wish her happy holidays and good healing energy from me too. hugs-Erika
