The words this week are 'Coffee in one hand, confidence in the other' Elle from Empire of the cat has chosen Steampunk, Halloween, or Steampunk Halloween as here theme on Art Journal Journey
To comply with this I have made my background with a good amount of orange and the two figures also wear Halloween colours.
Cindy and her young friend Millie have been invited to a steampunk Halloween party at one of their friends. Young Millie said that she had never heard of such a strange party, what did it mean she wanted to know. Cindy wasn't 100% sure herself but convinced Millie that as long as she had made some effort in the right direction she would be fine.
"After all" said Cindy "I haven't made too much of it, all I have done is to dress in the Halloween colours of orange and green. I didn't want to wear black as they might have thought I was going as a witch"
That made Millie laugh and she avoided saying anything about Cindy and witches. What she did say was "I managed to hire this dress from the fancy dress shop in town and the lady there seemed to know all about Halloween and steampunkt"
“It looks great Millie, all you need now is coffee in one hand and confidence in the other”
With that the two girls went off to the party.

How strange we have both used the same figure for one of them. Mine was left over from last week, I just forgot I had done the figures ahead of time so she got left.

I especially like the steampunk aspect you threw in with the Halloween pumpkins. I like the gears, the clock and dials on the one girl. I also love how you added the spider and made it all come togeth9er in that quote you had to include. What a great first entry for Elle's theme at AJJ.
A steampunk Halloween party would be fun. Of course I don't really have any steampunk items so it might be too expensive too-grin. This page is such fun Wendy, and I love all the orange. The color just pops right off the page in a very nice Halloween/steampunk way. I hope the new month has started off well for you, and have a super weekend ahead. hugs-Erika
