Art Journal Journey - Texture.

 Just in time to put another post on Art Journal Journey where Jo's theme is texture. The background is sprayed with Dylusion ink sprays. I added several yarns, buttons and two hearts cut from fusible fibres.

Tag Tuesday - Book print

Sandie's theme on Tag Tuesday is Book pages, and for this tag I used Distress inks and a stencilled background. I tore up some book pages and then adhered some of Tim Holtz figures. A butterfly and two metal charms helped finish it off.

THURSDAY JOURNAL WITH NEET

 This week the words are ' Never be too proud to serve frozen peas'  Claudia was having some posh friends round for dinner and having spent a small fortune on venison and new potatoes (out of season) she had forgotten to buy the vegetables. Having to resort to the freezer, she takes out a bag of frozen peas. Claudia decided just ordinary frozen peas would not do, so she spent a while looking up a recipe. At last something a bit different, using onions, garlic and stock. 

 Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in chopped onion; cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in 2 chopped cloves of garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add 3 cups of frozen peas, and stir in stock. Season with salt and pepper. Cover, and cook until the peas are tender, about 5 minutes

That looked OK, so off she went and cooked them just before her guests arrived. The meal went down really well, and Claudia was so grateful for the internet.

The background is distress inks and stencils and the Dylusion figure was coloured with watercolour pens. I used texture paste for the small dots and stencils for the rest.

This time I have sprayed the page with Dylusion inks and added some crackle paste and some accent beads.  I then adhered some textured yarn, dyed scrim and some leaves

 It's raining today, so I can hopefully catch up with some art work.

Tag Tuesday - Down on the farm

 On Tag Tuesday, Valerie's theme is Down on the farm. I am very late entering this as I forgot how time flies when you are so busy. I have my son home from Russia for a few months and I seem to spend all my time cooking meals and coping with two men. My studio rarely sees me at the moment, as I am too tired in the evening which is when I do my art.

This tag was made using some new stamps from Paperartsy designed by Elena Gazinska. I love all the quirky figures she comes up with. These are silly chickens  which are the only stamps I have that are farm orientated.  

Art Journal journey - Texture

 Jo's theme on Art Journal Journey is Texture, which I love. For this page, I ripped up some tissue papers and adhered them to the page. I then used a stencil  and some pumice texture paste. I spayed it all with some white ink and stuck on three dry eucalyptus leaves.

 

Thursday Journal with Neet.

 'Only the cat understands me' are the words for this weeks challenge. I stared off with a page I had painted black over some scribbly writing. I then used a star stencil and some glittery medium that was a bit like over done porridge, it had sort of gone off. Serves me right for hoarding stuff to use on special things and never do, I suspect we all do it. I can now safely enter it on Jo's theme of texture on Art Journal Journey.

Amelia loves walking in the dark under the stars, and none of her friends and family understand why. Her cat does though, because that’s when he likes to go hunting, he thinks perhaps she might like to help !
